i like the sarcastic fringehead fish....would be awesome to have in a predator tank, and give it some crabs to munch on.

i had read somewhere that it could be attributed to a cleaning response like something in its slime coat is irritating it and "likes" to be rubbed to remove the irritation. that being said it could also be a learned behavior, and the fish is comfortable with you and know not to bite the hand that feeds you. this is why i love marine fish because of the personalities they have. people that say "it's just a fish" have obviously never had a marine tank. my old sailfin would eat from my fingers and let me touch her occasionally when she saw fit.

for a newsletter i'm thinking the info has to be informative yet short and sweet and to the point, like a summary when its a good time to use a calcium reactor vs 2 part dosing. or hints and tips brought to you by lfs or by so and so members. i think a pic of the month and tank of the month will help draw people in to it also. or a recap of whats going on in the school tanks to show involvement int the community. a link to the thread of the quarter.... just some ideas

brian in the oldern days of the web page the founding wamas founders set it up for wamas to get a percentage of book purchased through wamas but coming from amazon via the wamas store, which helped the club. i'm guess diane was wanting to help wamas get its cut? any ideas on how to set that back up?

GAC = granulated activated carbon? if so i have read to make sure its quality cause some can contain phosphates. i know i read it here somewhere.

sounds great except for the bio balls part because they become a nitrate producer and i think i would just use the poly filter and exclude the sponge pre return pump. unless your diligent about maintance and keep the sponge very clean for they can clog up easily...or at least in my experience. so yeah...i bought a koralia 4 to blast the dead zones on my 40g breeder. so far i like mine, i like the suction cup/magnet design... not too sure about the cord going into the pump tho. i have a 1100gph return blasting out of a sea swirl and noticed it had alot of dead zones so i added the koralia. i noticed my sps had better polyp extension i guess do to the added flow. what do you guys/gals think of these powerheads?

give the copperband time....mine took a few weeks to start chowing on them...i also didnt feed my fish as much like every other day, that might of had something to do with it.

plus you have an awesome wife who is understanding. my thing is when you talk to your non-reefer friends and they reply "you spend how much on some fish?" another obsession would be not throwing away anything because i can scavenge it for use on something different down the road, and placed in 50k bins throughout the garage.

so far i think i'm only usung like 2% of the thing...havn't even configured any of the controls yet. but when i set up the planted tank and hook it inline it will make a big difference to the system. (i hope) lol
