  6. here is a random shot if the leather I got in the raffle at the last meeting. It was kind bleached but is coloring back nicely and interestingly. At had like a streak pattern originating from the center outward. Now it's slowly starting to fill in Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  9. i have an old co2 regulator with a solenoid. how do i check it to know if it still works? and could i get parts for it?
  10. agreed. i would add: after cleaning put it back together and let it run in a vinegar bath. i do that to mine occasionally. it would be a good time to check the impeller also. probably not a problem but i have seen them swell up in sedra pumps.
  11. at quantum reefs i saw battery operated air pumps, might want to get one as a backup to the backup. always have a plan.
  12. they love undiluted lemon joy in a milk container...may keep them out of the house next summer but you have to keep emptying out the container.

  14. anyone see this? lol http://www.advancedaquarist.com/blog/get-your-giant-isopod-realistic-plush-doll-now how many are you getting?
  15. Back in my day.... j/k its either hit or miss, i have seen a few Steven Pro lectures and a few others speak on fish health in LFS. and the key is: educate yourself, look for warning signs, watch it eat. all the fish that i have bought that died, i knew was questionable conditions. and i have nurse a few fish out of Ich. but know what you're looking at when you buy. know its behaviors. ask around here, we all have opinions agreed upon or not
  16. Ok cool. Thank you Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. any idea when you will get the sea bones CR 1 back in stock? the you build one. lol
  18. I have a d120 on my cube that replaced a t5 fixture and all I can say is wow. My corals are really perking up. Granted the t5 maybe didn't have the depth the d120 have to reach the bottom if the tank but I really like it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Good pint Steve. Did you vacuum your sand bed? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. ok so i have had sand for years and heave been reading a lot on BB tanks. things i like: easier maintenance high flow for sps possibly clearer water less nutrients getting back into the water column all of the above is very appealing to me things i don't like about BB: where do the critters go? micro fauna some fish like to make homes in the sand bed sand adds some sort of depth i think starboard is kinda ugly in tanks (not that the corals dont look amazing though.) so what can i do with a bare bottom? GSP flooring? live rock rubble to cover the shiny glass? i'd like to add i'm thinking of a remote sand bed with a BB.
  21. Is it a total scrub down? Like if you have tube worms in your sump and skimmer do you clean them out? It's just out of curiosity since I know everyone does different things. I have never been great with sps and I want to gear my new tank towards it. And I think my routine needs to be more routine lol. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
