  10. Thanks Dave, i still have some old tunze streams with the controller but they are huge and I think only one works. time to test em out i guess. lol i do like the ecotech but I am Ballin on a budget. so may have to deal with wires for a while.
  11. ok so i will be setting up a new tank hopefully soon, and i am getting my laundry list together. so i will start with surge/wave devices: are they still around? can they be controlled with an apex? do they contribute to tank seam failure? LED lighting: i am starting with t5 and MH because that's what i have until i have until i get the funds for LED. Which LED is best for the money that is controllable (sun up/sun down/actinic) for a 75g ~90g thanks in advance for your replies. i am looking forward to setting up another large tank...i miss my old sailfin tang...but may settle for the smaller ones.
  12. get the rubbermaids in the house so they can warm up. and start making water...or have a frag sale i have a 40b you can have, but it is drilled in 3 spots and we would have to meet somewhere if you wanted it.
  13. i have been to Khanh's a few times... i have seen a few incarnations of this tank, Amazing as always... i still remember that GIANT Efflo you had.

  17. if you run any 90° it will slow your flow rate. and you can get schedule 40 ball valves at lowes with or without unions (screw in type) gate valves are used for fine tuning your skimmer or what have you. What is a Herbie system?
  18. welcome to the club, i'm down here near spotsy courthouse.
  19. as long as the dam holds up at lake anna the reactor should be fine. about 30 miles from where i live i had just gotten to work and it sounded like a helicopter crashing on the roof. no real time to react except for getting outside away from the buildings... all is safe...i had a few breakers blow and came home early to fix that and clean up water. never really felt the after shocks here though. just shaken and not stirred
  20. depends on how you aquascape it...lol
  21. could be a small murex? it would be hard to I.D. without pics of the shell
