  1. If the glass is all intact, resealing is easy. I've done it many times with no issues.
  2. I'm just gonna hook up my downdraft skimmer and be happy
  3. Weldon #16 best stuff... EVER... I fixed a protein skimmer with it.
  4. I agree from a temperament standpoint, basslet trumps pseudochromis. Basslets "usually" get along with everything, pseudochromis can get mean and very territorial. If adding one, they should always be added last.
  5. I think Aquatic Obsession had one the last time I was in. I don't even think power flickered here in Centreville, but I think in the entire time I've lived here we've lost power at most for a couple minutes.
  6. For me, I don't need my heater attached, my basement is the warmest area of the house... probably from the humidity of the fish tanks, so my temp stays up pretty well when the lights are out. If you are just running the pumps a battery back up should last a while. This is what I'm running: http://www.tripplite.com/en/products/model.cfm?txtModelID=3007
  7. Computer battery back ups for circulation and air pumps. I have 750va 500w units set up on both my tanks. I may not have return pumps, but I'll have circulation and air turn over. I can always plug in the return pump and skimmer as well for periods of time. But I don't think we've lost power for more than a minute or two in Centreville the entire time we've lived here. Closest place is going to be Micro Center in Vienna.
  8. We have buried lines as well, but all the circulation pumps are on 750w battery back ups now and the timer for the lights has a built in battery back up.
  9. Welcome, wish I could see your website, I think the network here at work is blocking it.
  10. This is what happens when you let people who have been smoking the funny stuff make Ebay posts...
  11. If you've got a pump to run it, I have a large external chamber I use for running carbon when I need it. I'm in Centreville as well, you are welcome to use it. Just need a new mesh sleeve for the carbon, I've run entire 30oz containers of carbon in this filter before Let me know if there is anything I can do to help. Reason I say if you have a pump, is because the pump I was using died.
  12. Another possible method if the rock is not "large" is to hold it upside down and tap the rock with a hammer, sometimes this will make the anemone let go because it doesn't like the vibration of the hammering.
  13. That is AWESOME... and I guarantee WAY out of my budget...
  14. I had a small one once, I was never able to successfully get him eating prepared foods. He was eating small amounts and I thought it was going to be okay, but he just wasn't eating enough to sustain himself. They are absolutely beautiful fish in my opinion, but better in a fish only environment. I second what Dave said, make sure you see it eating prepared foods or be prepared for an arduous task to get it eating prepared food.
  15. That tank looks GREAT Bruce, your corals seem to be making a very healthy recovery from your recent tank issues!
  16. Bob, Being a lymphatic cancer survivor all I can say is welcome to the club, sort of like Tom your opening lines really did give me a feeling of dread. I'm extremely happy for you that you've kicked it and sent it running. God's speed to your recovery and enjoying your additional 20+ years as a WAMAS member. Wishing you an even speedier recovery than you are already experiencing. Kevin
  17. John, I believe I have the RAM you would need to bump those machines up to 2gb of RAM which is what that model maxes out at. Kevin
  18. Mr. Rock was selling some 40g Breeders for $25, he had drilled an undrilled. Might want to check with him and see if he still has them http://www.wamas.org/forums/topic/43303-tanks-for-sale/page__p__364943__fromsearch__1entry364943
  19. great fish, sounds like it's time to add a cleaner shrimp
  20. I never had a problem with my copperband bothering coral, but he sure destroyed the aptasia population in my tank.
  21. What a beautiful fish, but I agree with the above statements on it's ability to be kept in captivity.
  22. Why just because I had the same problem about 2wks ago with a Koralia?
  23. Definitely a majano... take it form someone who has them... kill them now while they are small or like an alien, they'll take over your tank and try to rule the world.
