  1. Okay, I have the proverbial "honey-do" list tomorrow, but she has agreed that if you are still short handed in the morning, give me a call and I'll see what I can work out 703-830-1979
  2. Hey Johnny, Got any of the above mentioned bulbs? If not could you let me know how much they would be? Mine don't appear to be giving me the pop on supplementing the 250w halides. Alternately of course there is the eventual switch over to T5 using those double connectors you have, how much would 60" T5 Super Actinics be? Thanks, Kevin
  3. Eric, I have a 20H that has baffles in it already, come get it and try it. Or if you are really nice, I have the tidepool I used to use under my 75g. Kevin
  4. Couldn't have asked that before I put it under the QT tank???? I can temporary shut it down, I gotta find a bigger sump anyway.
  5. Hi Jason, Welcome to the hobby, couple recommendations for you when you move to the big tank. Unless you are going for the length go for either a 120g or 4' 150g, if you are going for a reef tank, you will find the 24" deep tank much more desireable. If you are going for the 6' length, go for the 180g, same length as 125, but 24" deep. Also, if you haven't already, I would go ahead and join WAMAS and check out the for sale items, you'll find you can find just about anything you need there and if not, you can post that you are looking to buy something specific. Kevin
  6. Okay Rob is tall and all, but just remember to duck around him... This way the lightning makes sure to strike the highest piont.
  7. I am inclined to agree with the cup coral/turbinara identification.
  8. Great job, this tank is very impressive and really needs to be considered for TOTM.
  9. Or you could ask your nearby diabetic... me... and I'd be happy to give you one
  10. Sean is great as is everyone else there. I always enjoy going in to F & F.
  11. Yup, flatworms they are, another possible solution would be a velvet nudibranch. Black with neon blue stripes, very cool looking and known as a flatworm disposal. Biggest problem is that's all they eat.
  12. Scopas or Tomini, from what I've seen every tang I've had eats algae
  13. All depends on what time I get out of the Chiropractor in Tysons. If I get out early enough I can be there as well.
  14. Okay, so I remember what it is as it grows out (thank you lhcorals & Anna for the ticket), what is the name of this coral?
  15. It was a GREAT event, it was my first one and I think everyone did an amazing job. I missed the drilling demo cause I was on the grill, but I got to see the fragging demos. Guess that means I'm still going to have to persuade Bob to come over and help me drill my tanks
  16. My zoas and palys have always done well from there, never had any problems unless it was a result of my tank and not Sonny's corals. Kevin
  17. Congrats Johnny, I know the feeling of being proud of your little swimmer. I need to get mine back in to it now that things are settling down after the move.
  18. Just watch the flame, they are hit or miss. In many cases, if you keep the angel fed well, he'll leave your coral alone. Although I doubt it will bother the clam, it may nip at acro polyps. As for the cleaner wrasse, he's doing what comes naturally, he's trying to clean the new fish.
  19. I second the grateful part, most of the events usually fall on the 3rd saturday of the month which is when I have server maintenance from my job so I can't attend. Hence me volunteering to bring the grill and help out
  20. Hunter I can run by if that's easier, I know where you are and I have to go to fragfest as I'm the cook. Kevin
  21. Sorry I'm used to cooking for vegitarians that I had to either cook the veggie stuff first or clean the grill after the meat was done before I could cook the veggie stuff. Hence the offer to boil them if you would like Just trying to be accomodating.
  22. I'll do it the easy way, I'll bring a pot and som RO/DI water, my grill has a side burner
  23. You are truly mean Chip... wait... the Master Chef gets a frag!
  24. If there are any other special cooking requests that people want to bring, that's fine. I'd prefer to stick to burgers, etc for the simplicity of it. Cooking for large groups can get a bit chaotic.
  25. Veggie dogs won't hurt the grill, I'll make sure I thoroughly clean the plates before I load it up and keep part of the grill strictly for the veggie dogs. Fortunately dogs aren't as greasy splattering as burgers, so it will be easier to manage the veggie side. Sure bring the hat, never had one to wear before! Kevin Yes, I have vegitarian friends, I know the rules of grilling for them
