  1. I think vertical screening around the top of your sump may be in order... We have cats, I do not think any of them are foolish enough to cross me like that but they are cats... maybe it was trying to tell you you pay too much attention to the tank and not enough attention to him/her?
  2. Welcome to the club, how do your slugs keep killing themselves?
  3. okay, up mine to 50 please, time to start thinking ahead to the 180.
  4. My CS1 will go into service either this evening or tomorrow depending on what time I finish construction tonight. The guys at Avast are awesome to work with, I can't wait to get this thing going and actually have a skimmer running I do not have to constantly fight with. After almost a year of fighting with this AquaC EV120 I have, I just want something that is going to work. The EV120 is VERY susceptable to the water level issues mentioned above, as in putting my arm in the tank to move something will cause it to lose the bubbles.
  5. Okay, I was weak I admit it, I couldn't resist the "boom" post. But yes, I am getting the cynarina. yay me
  6. Well they are indeed real, I think I actually like the reverse one that is black with white fins, but no matter how you look at it they are really cool fish. Pricey from what I am readying though...
  7. yes but if you look at his belly area it is thin, although you were feeding the fish itself may not have been eating as much as it appeared he was.
  8. Based on his fins and the red marks at the above and behind his gills I would think something was picking on him. Granted that could be from after he died, but I also agree with Scott, he does look a little skinny.
  9. Dulles is doing the $1 gallon sale and they have included the 55g tanks this time, previously the cut off was 40g. Okay, to quallify that, they were still doing it over the weekend, I did not see an end date so as of today it may be over as I have no idea how long they are running it for.
  10. Well... that might explain what happened to my Springeri Pseudochromis my son just got me... I LOVE that fish, it is by far one of my favorites and it just disappeared...
  11. Wow... okay your luck sounds like mine... though I have used the red slime stuff before and never had that result... so sorry, wish there was something I could do to help.
  12. Just remember ususally they limit it to 40 breeder and smaller, they don't usually do the bigger tanks on that sale.
  13. I believe my T12s were UV, back when I had the 150 running and never had an issue with them, always saw coral growth and everything seemed to be happy under them. So with that in mind I can't imagine they would lose quality just because the size is smaller. I currently have geisman & ati in the fixture over my 65, might have to give UV a shot just to see when the time comes.
  14. Many of the Petco's have started carrying ORA fish, and with the buying power of a chain store they get better prices. Most of their pseudochromis and their clowns are ORA. Sadly unless it is an exceptional store, you still run a risk (no QT systems) with many Petco's because their corporate offices limit their salt environment too much. I have talked with a few of the managers and none of them are happy about how restrictive things are.
  15. Family had a great time at the social, was good to see Phil and his crew and the location looks great!
  16. I have done Reefs2Go group buys in the past and if there were any issues they were handled very professionally. I do not remember any DOA fish and the fish were ususally as stated above larger than expected. Inverts were in good condition, but accidents happen in transit. When I did my group buys I was actually working directly with the owner Christina and she was great to deal with.
  17. I hope it works out for you... I think I would have hurt someone already... good luck!
  18. Weldon 16 is awesome, my son knocked my EV120 off a counter and I was able to repair some major breakage using it. Skimmer works like a charm with no leaks... other than I can't seem to tune it for crap
