  1. Oh, we can actually see this one. Cute Ah hem, that wasn't very manly of me. Nice pic
  2. Cool... only the best. love the depth. Keep the pics & updates coming.
  3. If you don't have any luck locally
  4. That looks great! Jeff made both by 96 DT and my (still empty) 90 frag-tank. Great work! I'd post pics but a bunch of cyano covered rocks doesn't look that great :-(
  5. Throw another shrimp on the Barbi for me too! I love you guys! Sorry Nate, I believe that this happens in nature and all do well... except the shrimp.
  6. They just threw Bob out of the Walmart for selling frags in the Pet Supplies isle.
  7. OK Johnny but no fish on the grill OK?
  8. My setup is similar to yours. With your 2 overflows you can go bigger. I only have 1 1" drain line and a little more distance to carry water back and the Mag 9.5 works great. I also rely on another circulation pump for additional movement. The 9.5 is nice and small and inexpensive for what it can do.
  9. And this stuff is OK underwater?
  10. OK, I just purchased a fragtank from NAGA and I want to put a eggcrate(light diffuser stuff) divider of just under 18" / 17" without scratching the heck out of it. It will basically hold a section of macro to a 1' section at the end of the long frag tank. How do I hold it in place? Don't tell me I should have had NAGA put a divider in, I was keeping costs down. It's this tank and the fuge section would be on the left end which had a rim.
  11. Ditto on this. One big container rather than buckets then you won't be so pressed for time. You may be forced to move most of the rock 1st before you even CAN catch the fish. Move the LR & corals to the temporary container with a heater and powerhead and then move the fish. How much time do you have access to both locations?
  12. I just added a 96 gallon to my 50 gallon system. The 50 had a few fish & corals. I let the new 96 cycle on it's own with stinky sand from another tank. I mixed-up a large container of filtered water & salt to the same SG os the 50. I did small water changes daily on the 50 and put the old water right into the 96. Once the 96 cycled on it's own; which was relatively quick with sand from another tank and much of it's water from the 50, I then open the connection between them to just a trickle for a few days as an extra precaution. I now have 140 in the system and all are happy. Just my $.02
  13. Like Jan said If the stand is very strong and very rigid it can be done. Remember folks, he's not going up a flight of stairs, just across the room. That being said, is is easy to bust a seam as you move it. Would it be possible to put the new 40 you're planning on adding in that location and then transfer the stuff to it and then use the 58 as the new frag tank?
  14. Here's the link... looks cool - figuratively & literally
  15. Pretty cool
  16. Bob's response was one along my line of thinking My sump is in the basement and I don't care about noise. My next upgrade will be to replace my hodge-podge little fuge & frag tanks with 1 big one and add a 2nd skimmer rather than take a loss on the one I already own which works fine. The new toy syndrome is admitedly valid too :-)
  17. I'm just trying to understand if there is a downside of using 2 skimmers besides the maintenance issue. Also, I've always understood that marine aquarium algae thrives in low oxygen and high nutrient environments; two things that "overskimming" would fight.
  18. People get bigger tanks and then sell their old skimmer, which may be great for a smaller system, to get a new, larger capacity skimmer. Why don't folks add a 2nd skimmer? OK, more to clean but alternating cleaning each has advantages too. Does one somehow defeat the other?
  19. Of course, it really depends on what you're putting in there. I'd personally go DIY hood with DIY 8-10 bulb T5s. Maybe 4 or 5 of these with a mix of bulbs & timers
  20. Also, how about the cleaner & peppermint shrimp; in danger?
  21. The tank is a 96 custom (38"/24"/20") and will have plenty of open space. Other inhabitants will be 1 Yellow tang, a few green chromis, my Wife's 2 pajama cardinals, a clown, a small goby (he can easily hide in various places) and a few cleaner and peppermint shrimp. I was thinking of gettng 3. 1) I can get 3 females and the head be-och will become the male & become head of the harem right/ok? 2) Will they tend to bully the small cardinals and goby? 3) Other concerns? 4) How much do these guys usually cost? Thanks
