  1. Here is a message from Mike at RapidLEDS about my project. So with my kit from Rapidleds, I won't need to do any drilling & screws at-all. Sprprised you had to.
  2. I can give you a 24" X 24" X 10"H in Manassas if you'd like.
  3. I just ordered a 12 LED kit from Rapid LEDS. So they don't include any wiring instructions?
  4. This fixture was recently upgraded to use a 50/50 ratio of 10,000K & 453nm with reflectors even if the web-page is out of date. Here's the link... See "the other Rob" for pricing.
  5. For the hex, if you don't mind spending about $27 more, you could save yourself time & energy and just slap one of these in there. Here's the link... see sarcastic Rob
  6. Hey Jan & folks, A concern I have is in the spectrum (nm). Geisman and other manufacturers have their actinic bulbs at or near 420nm. The increasingly popular Cree 3w royal blue is 450nm-460nm but it appears that the blues for these is at 470nm. No expert here but I wonder if this would be good enough for the actinic component of your lighting... I dunno It looks like each bulb is 1/2 a watt or maybe less, so you'd need alot... Me thinks I will add however that several folks have said that their Cree and Panorama LEDS closer to 450nm look great. OK, experts, set us strait.
  7. Keep digging Jan... this is good stuff. Your hubby can use your rejects in his music studio :-)
  8. There are horror stories about folks finding really big ones. Do a google search on "large bristle worm"... yikes
  9. I did the same thing as origami using a MJ600 & pumping up 3 feet and the flow was about the same as an aqualifter.
  10. barley activity, brewtopia, I get it LMAO
  11. Dam! You are a geek Thanks I did calculate that the bulbs wold last about 13 years @ 10hrs/day
  12. I guess that should be $/watt. I'm trying to make a case for upgrading to LEDs I know it depends on the county/provider. I'm in Prince William county VA using VEPCO I think.
  13. If it's going to be viewable from 3 or 4 sides, a center pile may be the way to go.
  14. How long did it tanke to get from 1/2" to that? Is that under LEDS? Tell us a little about the tank. Kudos!
  15. Johnny & Ozzie Do you guys carry Geisemann Powerchrome T5 39W 36" and UVL 36
  16. Thanks for the honest replies
  17. The CBB has always been one of my favorite fish since way-before I even had and aquarium (probably before some of you were born). I also happen to have plenty of tasty aptasia My tank is a little sparce at the moment with mostly softies like frogspawn, sacrophyton, shrooms, finger leather... 1) What is your experience on feeding these guys post-aptasia? 2) What is your experience on them hurting other corals or anemonies (thinking about adding a BTA sometime). 3) Any other advice on these guys? Thanks,
  18. Very nice Steve! Those lights look great & really like the way you did the verticle rockwork to take advantage of the cube. Kudos!
  19. we seem to be forgetting this one. It should look great just letting nature take care of it. Gotta love cubes!
  20. I want to set-up a R-DSB and need sand. I saw some at Home Depot that was fine and white but not sure it is OK. Buffering capacity would be nice but reducing Nitrates is my goal. Where do I go to get affordable sand?
  21. Yep, that's why I'm looking for these guys & yes I know the value of a quarrantine tank. Thanks Folks
  22. Anyone see these available with BRK or local vendors?
  23. +1 on the nasarrius snails. These guys burro into the sand and once there is the slightest hint of food entering the tank they pop-up.
  24. Sorry to butt-in but (pun intended)... Wouldn't the 80 degree be the way to go? Isn't an inheritent problem of leds the fact that they are too focused? Cool subject (pun intended again)
