  1. Just tried to check my tank cam, got this.... @TomBradley412 offered awesome advice. Connect the camera to a smart outlet so you can power cycle the camera remotely. [emoji2962]
  2. Interesting question, I'll have to try....
  3. Here's a picture from my Wyze cam if it helps anyone. Don't mind the tank, it's just now recovering from an impromptu tank swap.
  4. Snap Closing Semi-Concealed Hinges - Oil-Rubbed Bronze (pair) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001ENSJX2/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_EC4WDbPDWBNAC Looks like they could be these with a plastic cover?
  5. Also a fan of the Wyze cams.
  6. Looks like there are some YouTube videos as well that might simplify the teaching process?
  7. https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/vertex-illumina-official-thread.124720/ This could help?
  8. Sounds like the best advice you've received.
  9. Aqua illuminations lighting was 20% off since the new stuff is coming out. Maybe a handful of 26s or 52s? I've seen quite a few used xr30s on r2r? Those would be the route I'd take. Maybe toss them in a hybrid fixture?
  10. Not to mention quicker! I don't think a single person isn't excited to see this thing up and running!! That said, I'd fully support you if you wanted it done right the "first" time. How does everything else look?
  11. Does your school have a WiFi system that you could connect a webcam too? Likely not, but you could set one up to monitor the tank from home instead of constantly driving in (with an auto top off and an auto feeder of course) A goby/pistol shrimp combo would probably excite kids. It's cool to watch the two work together to build a den. Firefish are some of my favorite. They are inexpensive and beautiful. Plus you can get a few of them. A wrasse will add some activity. And I am sure the kids would love a hippo Tang ("Dory!"). An emerald crab or two might even entertain. Just some thoughts.....
  12. Why not just get a/some "black box" leds? They do exactly what you are asking. One knob for the white channel, another knob for the "blue" channel. Turn to adjust. Not the greatest thing out there but they work. 13. What a gift!!!! There seems to be a lot of people that are willing to donate to a school tank once you're able to support it. Does the 110 have a light?
  14. I used that second link, though I didn't have a CNC machine so I just drilled multiple holes instead of the slots. I bought 3 12x12 sheets of acrylic off Amazon or eBay for $20 for my 20L.
  15. Amazon sells Jebao return pumps that are adjustable. You can dial the flow up or down and are affordable. The crowd is mixed on whether or not Jebao makes a quality product but I haven't had any issues. If you have prime and order now you could get it by Friday.
  16. I would assume that there is a sink near the shower? Why not connect it to the cold water line for the sink, before it gets to the sink?
  17. Congrats! X2!
  18. Congrats on the little one! Mine is about 3.5 months now. Unfortunately I couldn't get myself a "push present" since I was also in the process of moving! Tank looks great! If I upgrade, my next tank will be a waterbox!
  19. Looks like diving on Guam! I miss it! Can't wait to go back this winter. Not sure how many dives I'll get in, but hopefully a few.
  20. I'd love to donate a fish or coral that in a few years I could take my daughter and tell her we were responsible for that. I'm sure there will be more they need but I just think that would be cool.
  21. I was just thinking that it might allow local businesses to come back into existence. Considering that as more businesses fall to big box stores and online retailers. I imagine retail spaces will become more affordable. Admittedly, I'm part of the overall problem as I constantly use my Amazon account but I personally prefer buying fish from a local retailer. It would be cool to see small businesses thrive.
  22. Saw this just a second ago and reminded me of this thread.... App support for Amazon smile on Android.
