  1. That's horrible! Sorry to hear! Did you contact the company? They may be able to restore from a backup. Sent from my SM-G970U1 using Tapatalk
  2. Not to be rude but I don't think that's THE issue. It may be AN issue but you're cycling.... That your issue. My recommendation... Don't put anything in the tank. Continue top offs, or get an ATO (highly recommend an ATO on a 5 gal) and stop testing..... Switch to a weekly or bi-weekly test vice daily.... and wait. Let it do things on its own timeline. Naturally. Good, bad, and ugly.... Sent from my SM-G970U1 using Tapatalk

  4. You should get yourself a refractometer instead of the hydrometer. They can be picked up pretty cheap on Amazon or eBay. Just make sure to calibrate it and test the accuracy occasionally (an aquarium shop should be able to help you). Additionally, it seems to me like you might want to consider slowing down. Seems like you might be trying to rush things and are causing yourself some issues. Lastly, post a picture of your setup. It might enable others to help out. You mentioned having a 5 gallon tank. Does it have an ATO? If not, you're definitely going to have to stay on top of topping off with RO. Sent from my SM-G970U1 using Tapatalk
  5. @NovaReef is selling one locally too. He's in Kingstowne. Sent from my SM-G970U1 using Tapatalk
  6. I liked the JBJ ATO I had a while back. Now I have a tunze. The JBJ has pump protection. Though it doesn't come with a pump. You'll have to use your own. Any route you go, if you order on Amazon it'll get here Friday. Only a day of manual top offs. Sent from my SM-G970U1 using Tapatalk
  7. Just saw these and wish I had known. Instead of buying Home Depot buckets like I did. Firehouse Subs has 5 gallon "pickle buckets" (so you know they're food grade) that include a lid AND benefit a charity for only $2. Great way to save money, support a cause, and have cool looking buckets... Sent from my SM-G970U1 using Tapatalk
  8. The color coordination is impressive. I'm jealous. Sent from my SM-G970U1 using Tapatalk
  9. Wow. That was quick! Looks great! I don't know how strong it is or how strong your old light was, just make sure your light increase wasn't too drastic! Sent from my SM-G970U1 using Tapatalk
  10. This may help you with your decision. The light you're looking at is a clone of it (like the black boxes). Sent from my SM-G970U1 using Tapatalk
  11. A lot of people buy clip on goosenecks for them. Nano-reef has a ton of people using them. Just do a search and see if it's right for you. This light also is used a lot and had good reviews from what I remember: HIPARGERO LED Aquarium Light - Aquarium LED Lights 30W Saltwater Lighting with Touch Control and 3W Cree Chips for Coral Reef Fish Nano Tank https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0727V8C5Q/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_quhDDb6X8MPN4 I always wanted to try one but never got the opportunity. Look up "aquaknight" on nano-reef for reviews. Sent from my SM-G970U1 using Tapatalk
  12. I wouldn't do either. I think I have the solar flare on my Betta tank. I definy wouldn't buy that for a reef tank. I'd do this and save yourself the trouble of upgrading later. ABI 12W Tuna Blue LED Bulb Coral Reef Optimized Spectrum PAR38 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01LWP37SD/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_mngDDbKFZWJB3 (though I'd get the 23W) There are plenty of other options in the $50-60 range if you're looking for something a little more aesthetically pleasing. 13. How long has it been set up? I wouldn't add anything until your numbers are perfect. Sent from my SM-G970U1 using Tapatalk
  14. I have a small RODI unit that can attach to your sink. It has limited use on it, I think 3 months making water for a 20 gallon. $40 and it's yours. PM me if interested. I'm located in Alexandria. Sent from my SM-G970U1 using Tapatalk
  15. Google conduit light mount and you should be able to find a solution. As said, you simply mount the conduit piping to the stand and bend it to hang over your tank. Sent from my SM-G970U1 using Tapatalk
  16. Do you have an electric eel?! I kid. Why not try the reverse. Unplug everything to ensure the drop off to 0, then plug items in and note anything that raises it. -A-a-ron
  17. Thanks. I ended up growing impatient after trying several methods and just drilled a bunch of holes. -A-a-ron
  18. Trying to make my own AIO. Anyone have any ideas on how to cut "grates" into acrylic without a CNC or router? -A-a-ron
  19. So unfortunately during my move, I cracked my Nuvo 20. I just took advantage of Petco's $1 a gallon sale and picked up a 20L as a temp until I set my 40B up (after I renovate my basement, anyone know a contractor?). Long story short, I plan on setting it up as an AIO and found that ABS plastic sheets are significantly cheaper than acrylic. Is ABS reef safe and will GE Silicone work to hold it in place? K thanks. Aaron -A-a-ron
  20. I like 2 -A-a-ron
  21. Yeah. I bought mine back when Petco honored up to 55 gallons for their $1 per gallon. I bought mine while deployed to New Orleans for the BP oil spill. It sat in my truck for a month! Haha -A-a-ron
  22. Looks great! Hopefully soon I'll be joining you in the 40B club! Been itching to set mine back up! -A-a-ron
  23. Though, I have bought a few monoprice things in the past and none have disappointed. -A-a-ron
  24. Haven't ordered it yet.... In between houses so didn't want to ship it and miss it. -A-a-ron
  25. HIPARGERO LED Aquarium Light - Aquarium LED Lights 30W Saltwater Lighting with Touch Control and 3W Cree Chips for Coral Reef Fish Nano Tank https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0727V8C5Q/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_pL3nDbDCYHXC2 I always wanted to try one of these things. -A-a-ron
