  1. try google and compare them with your.
  2. I am not too good myself. But let me give it a try. green paly, red zoa, purple bonsai acropora, acan, chalice and purple digitata?
  3. Nice! I think a pair of red mandarins would be awesome!
  4. Pretty nice fish list! Funny thing though, almost everyone said that they will keep only certain type or coral or fish only tank. But then...we all know exactly what happen!!!
  5. FYI: I saw someone offers a bunch of free aquariums on CL (in falls Church). Hopefully some members can get some! http://washingtondc.craigslist.org/nva/zip/3536125302.html
  6. Very interesting! I occasionally blast a section of my tank a bit but not even close to what your're doing. Has it ever crash on you?
  7. Sorry to see you go. Best of Luck!
  8. Perhaps you can cut out a piece of egg crate fit along the sump and just high enough to close the lid. then glue it along the sump.
  9. DIY It's a bit scary @ first, but was a piece of cake! Got to remember to ease up at the very last end to get a smooth cut. FYI, they do sell bit and bulkhead combo online. google it!
  10. Likewise! See you soon. Thank you
  11. Wow! that's one awesome video. Beautiful flatworms. Are those reefsafe?
  12. I just took a drive out for the opening and to pick up my ORA mated pair tomato. Although, the drive was far for me (1 hour each way) and I was not able to bring the mated pair home today . Those two tomato are just too freaking smart (and super healthy). Adam and Steve tried to get real hard to catch them, but they managed to escaped, everytime! Nonetheless, the trip was totally worth it (I scored some nice frags  ). The store is clean and corals are absolutely beautiful and healthy!!! Still see some really nice $10 frags left. I wish they were around when I first begin reefing! Anyway, I had great experience there today and hopefully we can work something out and bring those two tomato clowns couple home. Thanks again, guys!
  13. Thanks Doug, Keeping fish is an additciton already. Breeding went up another level I breed many freshwater fish before, but this is totally new to me. My other pair of clowns spawned many time (until recently the female just died without sign or warning). I figured I tried a few time to see how it goes. I read some online article on culturing rotifers...seem do able, but of work. With my schedule, not likely able start. I seen people selling them on CL before, hopefully I can get some live rotifers. Found this old, but nice article, hopefully someone else will jump on board too!!!! http://www.advancedaquarist.com/2002/9/breeder
  14. thnks for the great advice! keeping my finger crossed! saw a few silvery ones. tonight..looks like they are ready tomorrow night..man I hope I get back in time for it.
  15. Yep! excessive light would cause algae in my tank too.
  16. I have been very successfully utilizing light out method to reduced cyano, dino and green film algae (haven't had other, so I don't know id applicable). I am sure most of you here know and familiar with this, I thought I pass it on anyway. Occasionally, these nuisance pop up once in awhile in my tank. So I usually do light out for about 24-36 hours at a time whenever I notice the algae starting to spread. I noticed green film algae, however, don't completely gone with the 24-36 hours (I like to keep some for the snails). I am pretty sure it can be wiped out with a longer light out period.
  17. With hard base, mostly likely not nuisance. Nice find! keep it and see what's it turn out to be.
  18. Thanks, I'll look into Vossen catcher. Last time I tried putting a hose close to their eggs (attempting to suck them as the eggs hatched), they get extremely agitated I rather not stress them out!
  19. Here they go again, they laid a new batch of eggs last Friday. So should be ready to hatch this weekend. The last batch, I was able catch a dozen or so of their fry and none survived (lasted 3 days). Just order a breeder net and I am going to try to rear them inside the tank (if I can catch them, hard to do in the dart with a flash light). Interestingly, I was able to capture a video of the male clownfish fending the eggs from a large turbo snail. I thought the eggs was a goner, but contrary the clownfish successfully drive the snail away (these little guys do pack a powerful bite, bit me a few time when I sticked my hand in to remove some stuburn algae).
  20. there are lot of nice looking majano!
  21. large binder clip and clip it onto the tank
  22. looks like baby anemone or aiptasia. see if you can remove without killing it!
