  2. Daily - Feed the fish, check the skimmer, check amount of algae growth on glass (nice gauge of high nutrients), find all the fish Weekly - Refill ATO, clean the glass Longer - Water changes, vacuum the sump, refill dosing jugs (Alk, Ca, Mg) I also dose zeobak, zeozym, pohl's extra, LPS amino at about half their recommended times

  10. Welcome and if you want to go bigger I have a 120g that will be up for sale about the time you move here.
  11. I don't agree that Mg is dosed by hand and in large amounts. I using a dosing pump and the amount to keep it stable is way less than Ca or Alk. My guess is you haven't reached an equilibrium of the 3 if your having to does mg in large amounts. Just my 2 cents.
  12. What is the PSI on your RO/DI unit? Low pressure will burn through DI Resin. I bought of booster pump and it lasts much much longer. I went from 40 PSI to 90 PSI.
  13. I would use the Herbie regardless because I think you are going to get air suction noise in your overflow. Not a huge issue but it is in your living room like my DT and you want it quiet. I use a waveline DC 1200 and still need to fine tune the overflows with a gate valve to make it silent.
  14. I always place my heater in an overflow. As Tom mentioned if the power goes the heater wont be on however to be on the safe side mine is also not exposed with the power off on the tank. I have no problems with it, but all things being equal I would prefer it to be in my sump.
  15. If I use a single membrane I don't use a booster but once I added a second membrane I also needed the booster to have enough psi. My house is 40ish PSI which is not enough for 2 membranes you need at least 60 or you burn through resin. The booster puts me at 90 psi to the RO/DI
  16. It looks nice, better than what I have built in the past. My jawfish never took to the pvc beyond an initial hiding spot after being introduced into the tank. After that he dug new holes all over my tank every few days. Now he seems content where he is and thankfully it is in a spot viewable from the front of the tank.
  17. I'm on my second year in WAMAS. the first year I was a cyber stalker of sorts meaning I never posted or talked to anyone. This year I have met a few of you, attended meetings and am very glad to be a part of the group. Must be the meds....
