  1. We use silicon tubing in the labs for out ultra purified water and it's not an issue. (They wouldn't use it otherwise). No contamination issues.
  2. Doubtful as you mentioned but pistol shrimp have killed other types of shrimp in tanks. (friend of mine lost his skunk to a pistol)
  3. Neptune says (and in the firmware update instructions) that it must be connected via cable not wireless. I'm sure others have done it wireless and prob worked. I did mine by cable and had 0 problems at all during or since.
  4. Have you noticed how/if this affects your DT pod stock at all?
  5. Most of the time Matt, it's not even worth the extra effort and time spent to get around the tolls (although it's really only the express lanes on 495 and the Dulles toll road that charge so not exactly sure where all the toll roads people are referring to.
  6. I had this when I first got my ReefO skimmer and it took a couple weeks to "break-in." Was it all cleaned up when you got it? Maybe it just needs to break-in again on your system?
  7. Anything that decides to take up residence in my filter socks better get oughta Dodge or they get a date with bleach!
  8. I don't really mind making the hike to Quantum even though Marine Scene is closer (by 30 minutes). A1 is a nice little shop and I've gotten one nice frag of zoas from them.
  9. Neptune's website and mrsaltwatertank has more info in exactly what Fusion is supposed to do.
  10. No it's not inaccurate at all though Trock, you, me, everyone has their own opinion (typically without the science to back it up) Whether the hobby has helped save some species is debatable too due to the method used to remove many of these from the oceans. Frankly NONE of our "pets" has evolved to living life in an enclosed container. That, actually, is irrefutable fact so saying one should be left while others are ok to take is just absurd. As for destruction, things DO and HAVE happened even without human involvement. It's like saying if humans had existed and had zoos 250mil years ago then 95% of life on the planet wouldn't have been wiped out during the End-Permian extinction event. People do have one poignant trait above all other animals: we have a wonderful ability to convince ourselves that what we believe is in fact truth when it may or may not be anywhere close. I'm not preaching with all of this but won't be accused of being inaccurate based on another person's "belief."
  11. Using this logic, everything in our tanks should be left in the ocean!
  12. Just picked up the neptune auto feeder today from QR. really nice (albeit noisy)
  13. How much for the creamsickles? (They look like Blondies)
