  1. I need to do the same thing. I've been told if you call ecotech they have amazing customer service and will help you program whatever you'd like. -A-a-ron
  2. Awesome tank! How long has it been up? Do you have any timeline pictures? Curious to see how the coral growth was under the LEDs. -A-a-ron
  3. I'd go for the g3. G4 is several hundred dollars more for not that much of an increase, IMO. G3 has UV whereas the G2 does not. -A-a-ron
  4. You program your light from a PC using a micro USB cable. You can create your own profile or use some of the preloaded ones. If you want, you can buy a reeflink as well and make it wireless. I think the Apex controller works with it as well. -A-a-ron
  5. I had the same problem with the same tank. https://www.nano-reef.com/forums/topic/360492-bommie-sps-uwdanno/ This tank solved that problem for me. I loved it so much I decided to follow his lead. Since I cant afford a brand new Radion, I bought a used Gen 2 Radion XR30W for $200. Gotta say I love it.. Let me know if you are interested in the light, I think the guy I bought mine from has another. -A-a-ron
  6. I think I am running the 16k profile?.... But I have the same issue, and programming a night mode was not as easy as you'd think. Supposedly ecotech has great customer service but I haven't called yet. -A-a-ron
  7. Looks great though! Looking forward to see this thing come to life! (Sorry, haven't figured out how to edit posts on tapatalk) -A-a-ron
  8. May just be me but I feel like the left "island" is screaming to have another rock under the right side, it'd make a sweet tunnel for the fish to swim through and would put SPS on top of the shelf closer to the light! -A-a-ron
  9. darn it all! My parents have a 55g tank and stand sitting in storage. The tank is shot (the center brace broke) but it does have an old school coral life t5 fixture on it and some various odds and ends. Only issue is it's in Kentucky and I'm flying home for the holidays! Had I thought of this thread I would have brought it back with me. If you're interested I'll try to get it out here at my first opportunity. -A-a-ron
  10. What kind of rock? I'm sure parameters would be a good start. Maybe your alkalinity is high? Using Marco style rock? -A-a-ron
  11. Looks awesome! Still using the sol? -A-a-ron
  12. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/334294783793080/ Saw this. Thought it was a pretty good deal for someone with a massive tank, which I don't have! Welcome back to the reef community! I'm joining you as well... -A-a-ron
  13. That's pretty sweet! Too bad I'll be out of town! Oh and my tank has no water in it yet haha. -A-a-ron
  14. Me too! Google provided that result in a search and I just laughed it off "oh, silly Google!" -A-a-ron
  15. Congrats on the cycle! Seems like all the retail locations have pretty high prices but I've been to quantum reefs a few times and they have some nice looking corals. Also looks like a lot of people sell some really nice stuff on here too. -A-a-ron
  16. A band saw blade to borrow a band saw sounds like a fair trade to me! -A-a-ron
  17. That's some pretty rough stuff. Pretty sure if that happened to me I'd never have a tank ever again. -A-a-ron
  18. Cool good deal! -A-a-ron
  19. Aw man, that's one H-E-double hockey sticks of a 'nem! Ya know, as I'm going through the process of setting up a new tank, I'm realizing how many idiotic designs I've made over the years.... -A-a-ron
  20. They'll likely be okay, they usually come packed in styrofoam and water doesn't change temps that quickly. The truck is likely at least somewhat warm for the drivers comfort too. -A-a-ron
  21. Wow! Learn something new every day! Any idea if Scentsy style products (wax melts) do the same? -A-a-ron
  22. All kidding aside, I've seen a few large tanks on the Facebook marketplace. -A-a-ron
  23. Why stop at 120? https://washingtondc.craigslist.org/nva/for/d/complete-saltwater-aquarium/6746595738.html Get this bad boy! -A-a-ron
  24. I think they are all about the same. Though sbreeflights are supposed to be upgraded "black box" LEDs. -A-a-ron
  25. So last night, after a few beers, since I was hanging out downstairs I thought it would be a good idea to filter some water.... Well even more beers later I decide I was tired and went to bed. Woke up to some damp carpet since my 7.5 gallon container overflowed. Oops! Fortunately I was up late and woke up early so it was not THAT bad. I just bought a float valve to prevent this ever happening again. So this got me wondering, surely other people had some DOH! moments. Curious to see if others had moments they wish they could take back. Worst part is, I don't even have a tank yet. This is strictly for my rock. Haha. -A-a-ron
