  1. Huh.... Didnt even know it posted a preview! -A-a-ron
  2. No input, just wanted to put this here. Saw this for sale in Reef2Reef in case you wanted the 160. https://r.tapatalk.com/shareLink?url=https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/nyos-quantum-160-skimmer.498071/&share_tid=498071&share_fid=1020&share_type=t -A-a-ron
  3. Those montis are impressive!!! -A-a-ron
  4. Those were my thoughts exactly. -A-a-ron
  5. In my search for lighting I found what I think is a very informative write up on multiple popular lighting options. It may be biased. If it is, someone please let me know. https://aquarium-digest.com/tag/sb-reef-led/ Thought I'd share with the group to share some knowledge. -A-a-ron
  6. Sorry, just realized that's a 2.5 drive from you! Haha. Whoops. -A-a-ron
  7. The fluval 13.5 aquarium includes a light that will supposedly keep softies okay. Might even have some black Friday sales. Also could check Facebook or Craigslist for someone dumping their old tanks. If you have a car and feel like a weekend trip, this looks like a pretty good quick startup tank. https://greenville.craigslist.org/for/d/innovative-marine-nuvo-10/6739515208.html -A-a-ron
  8. I'm a fan of dwarf anglefish but some may not mic well with reefs. A leopard wrasse would be pretty sweet! If you have the husbandry for it... A Mandarin definitely gives the wow factor. -A-a-ron
  9. Ironically, I just found out about these last night after I had a crappy heater blow while curing some rock. I was wondering the same thing about their functionality. Saw a couple of good reviews on them for what it's worth. -A-a-ron
  10. These Gyres seem interesting and aren't quite at the ecotech price point so maybe there will be one in my future. Though not having wires in the tank is a definite plus. Ugh, I cant wait to hurry up and get my tank wet! Rock is currently cooking in a Rubbermaid container in advance of this. Hopefully I can beat my cycle now! -A-a-ron
  11. I'll probably go Jebao at first then once the funds return, get one of the fancy ones. -A-a-ron
  12. Yep, it's showing the discount in the cart. Whether it goes through or not is a whole nother story. -A-a-ron
  13. I'm debating on pulling the trigger on my tank (DFS has a 20% off coupon) but like you said. Black Friday is right around the corner. -A-a-ron
  14. I had an MP10 on my 40. Loved it, just wish I had two. Unfortunately, my budget won't allow me to afford two of them at this time. -A-a-ron
  15. Return guppies for credit at lfs. Convert to salt. Buy a clown. Bring whatever livestock you aquire back and sell/trade/or trade into lfs here for credit. -A-a-ron
  16. Well there are a few different sizes of them.. Biggest thing I don't care for is that they take up a lot of space aka eyesore. -A-a-ron
  17. So I've been out of the game for a bit and am just coming back into it. I'm working on setting up (slowly!) a 40 gallon and am looking at powerheads. I'm not familiar with the gyres. Am I better off going with 2+ jebao powerheads, an MP10, or one of the ice cap Gyres? -A-a-ron
  18. Thinking about swapping my drilled 40B for the Cobalt C-Vue 40 AIO. Anyone have any experience with these? I've seen threads about crappy silicone seals but its only been aesthetics. I love my 40, but have had issues with plumbing and leaks in the past, figure an AIO would be better. Plus, my lease says max 20 gallons. A 40 AIO would be a much easier sell than a drilled 40 with a 20L sump. -A-a-ron
  19. Wow. That's an awesome picture! -A-a-ron
  20. As an IT, I can completely support down time and even more when it's convenient for the techs that support the system. -A-a-ron
  21. I was thinking of just a little clown goby and some inverts. Maybe ooh and ahh people with a cleaner shrimp (though that might encourage too many hands in the tank)... I want to keep the bioload (and cost) low to help avoid crashes and the like. -A-a-ron
  22. Nice setup! How do you like the razor? I was looking at them.... -A-a-ron
  23. You seem very informed about all aspects of reef keeping! I'm looking forward to seeing more of your input! -A-a-ron
  24. I'd love to design a custom LED but it seems like once I've completed my research on it, something new has come out haha. -A-a-ron
