  1. It’s filtering and up taking nutrients. So there is a good chance it is a blessing. I would rather harvest and look at it than hair algae. Some pics sure would be neat!
  2. I’ll try increased feeding. There is a separate frag of the GSP flourishing in same tank
  3. Do they require higher flow? I recently turned off an MP10 because there are snail eggs all over it
  4. GSP dying. Brown noted on them. Acros are ok. Any suggestions Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Nothing is plugged in
  6. It really could be the flow issue. But consider nitrate burn also. I can’t remmeber if you stated the level. A few of the corals look dark color which is great but could mean the level is getting too high. Forest fire digi and fox flame are low light SPS corals and may not be suitable if your whole tank is getting blasted. I had to move mine down to the sea floor before they colored up
  7. Couple possibilities I’ll throw out there. Typically a tank has its lowest par on the frag rack. New bulbs? How high is fixture mounted? Also I think I remember seeing a post about an ATO accident. I happen to have had a ton of ATO accidents till I worked out the kinks. the SPS didnt show signs of stress till 2-3 weeks later sometimes. ATO accidents are the worst because all the parameters fluctuate. Maybe it’s just coincidence the frag rack piece are hardier? I know for a fact that healthy SPS love high par but sick ones don’t want to fry. Hope you figure it out good luck!
  8. They are saying to use epoxy only? Or in combo with CA? I didn’t realize the frag would hold well with epoxy only
  9. It takes millipora awhile to get going so hopefully that is the problem. However, they are a more sensitive SPS coral. I couldn’t grow them for a couple years. For whatever reason they decided they like my tank now
  10. I feel for you. I’m constantly fighting alk. Test once a day now. Seems to fluctuate for no reason sometimes. It makes me want to consider a calcium reactor. But maybe the grass just appears greener on the other side.
  11. Anyone know the name of this purple montipora? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. My astreas can *sometimes* eat it but it’s not very effective at all. In my tank it was just a new tank syndrome. It never came back. But sometimes it’s a nutrient issue. My old tank i would have it for two months then it would go away for two months. The cycle repeated itself several times only thing I could think of is it ate what it could then starved out until more nutrient built up
  13. Nutrients and also the right conditions for now. Just leave it be if it’s wearing you out. We all get it from time to time it should go away some day
  14. FREE emerald crab lol. Jk it will get sumped if It starts affecting the coral.
  15. I know!!! But not enough time Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Thanks! Might be a bit till I can do a full tank shot. Frag racks in the way but I’m e Working on moving the frag racks to sump. Here is sarmentosa update. Sold to me as rainbow tenuis. Lots of bushy polyps very nice and hardy coral Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Everyone was really upset. I think it will be good for the hobby. Good for the environment if it’s actually enforced properly. I do feel bad for the villagers that depended on the corals. To this date I have bought around 10 SPS mariculture. None of which are alive as they come loaded with barnacles and other pests and are not tank hardened. My friend had bought five, one of which is alive today. So to me I feel that it’s good for the hobby even though there may be some temporary minor price hikes. Glad to see our money go to good cause
  18. Looks like Fiji corals and rock exports are banned. Legit?! Thoughts?! https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/fiji-livestock-ban-coral-and-rock-exports-halted.346953/
  19. Never kept a Cerith snail y’all love them?
  20. Got to spot feed these guys or they will do this oh well plenty more where that came from Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Wow! Hopefully tide comes up quick
  22. Can’t wait for this thing to come out!
  23. Sure you may fix the patch, but what about the remaining deteriorating 15 year old silicone? It could spring a new leak any time. You obviously love the hobby and won’t be getting out anytime soon. Upgradeeeeee timeeeeee! The cost of the tank seems to be the smallest amount. It’s the skimmer, power heads etc etc that add up and you already have that
  24. the technology is getting better I think a lot of the LEDs have a wide angle allowing reflection off glass. It prevents the spotlight effect. Knowledge of the problem is getting better most vendors and companies suggest multiple fixtures even with smaller tanks. Better spread = more angles to get where the sun don’t shine. Now with that being said I have seen some bad shadowing. Typically it’s a tank that has only one LED fixture. And the fixture typically doesn’t have a lot of spread.
