  1. Tom I also was leaving it in the vinegar too long to get coraline off. There were a couple times I forgot about it for a couple nights. Probably just finds a micro opening and works it's way in. I also find frag rack magnets rust here and there. Still no problems but I have over 300g in the whole system with sump and tubing
  2. http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2621134Here is the MP40 rusting I had read about. I have had this happen. No problems here but maybe I just caught it in time before metals built up?
  3. Thanks for the response it very well could be! I need to get my hands on a magnify glass. They are small. While google searching for Florida fighting conch I came across strombus grazer by accident. They look really similar to that also. I can rule out whelk since they are feeding on the algae in the glass. Their mouth is pretty visible. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  5. A few of these guys hitchhiked in and I love them. They are hardy and appear to graze on algae on my glass at night. Would like more. Please share any observation and info you have on them. Thanks

  7. I feel bad for snorkel bob. He has no common sense. Hawaii is like 1200 miles long there is no way our 6 foot fish tanks are causing an issue lol. It's all the darn beaches, snorkelers, boats tearing up the reefs. Oh and especially sunscreen the people wear. Maybe Hawaii should consider shuttting down tourism? We definitely don't need to get the government to disable his septic tank there is no way his runoff from his property and business is affecting fish
  8. It doesn't encrust from what I have seen it just pancakes out! Great win! looks like I missed out on a great meeting

  11. I emailed them. Anyone know who dat is?
  12. Anyone know anyone I could PM about getting some rotifers? I would prefer Frederick, leesburg, or Montgomery county. Thanks! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Did it make you nervous switching to a calcium reactor? I haven't switched yet. Due to "if it ain't broke don't fix it" but I do occasionally have minor stability problems that would level out with one and increase growth a lot with a reactor
  14. I don't think .3 is bad. But if I can make it .1 simply by dosing during lights off why not?
  15. I'll try dosing the alk at night then to see if there are any changes. I run a light in my sump but it doesn't seem to do much Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. I want to dose my alk at night to stabilize my pH. I drip dose baking soda which is known to raise pH. Right now it is dosed around the clock at various times. I just have a couple concerns. Is it the pH swings that kill SPS or the alk swing?? I don't want to steady the pH if the alk will raise during the night dosing.
  17. Just thought I would share. They will be fish food but if it keeps happening I'll do some research and will raise em right. For now just having a beer or two and enjoying them do their thang Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Upgraded my fish tank security system lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. A buddy o mine gave me a small frag of this milli (it has grown nice). He lost it and I was able to give him a nice frag back. Make sure your friends have frags of your favs! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Feeder tentacles? sometimes come out when I clean the glass. They look like coral guts. I wonder if they eat the green stuff or the corraline algae or maybe the it just irritates the coral. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Starting to fill in pretty good. Fragging has been keeping the growth controlled on that blue austera and the green slimer. Both get very fast growth Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. BamBam are my fav zoa I keep. Makes me want to take them to the freaking Catalina Wine Mixer. POW POW! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
