  1. Following! I can't believe that white hairy crab cat got through your dip process lol! Otherwise looking great!
  2. I have seen some cruddy glass out there. It's possible it's just a warped piece of glass? Again I'm by no means an expert just speculating. Inspect the top brace of the tank with a fine tooth comb. Also inspect the silicone with a fine tooth comb. Looking through the long green part of the glass is where most the strength is.
  3. If it's normal flat when empty and it's bowing when filled that's bad. I have only owned two tanks in my life lucky me so I have no idea. Just going off what I have read when my top brace broke.
  4. I looked at the price for the larger ones. Not too bad! I like that they openly state the parameters. I'll buy it if everything checks out. I will be surprised if there is no residue with the calcium that high. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Get them on eBay. Search aquatic plant basket. Or go to local pond supply store. That's usually what they plant the Lilly pads and aquatic plants in
  6. My advice is leave it alone. Don't feed it. And keep things stable and happy. My light starved one pictured had came out from under that magnet there on its own. The bugger Took a week or two to figure out it wasn't getting enough light
  7. Here is my healthy ones. Along with a light starved one. They move across whatever they want. They outsmart me every day and they don't have a brain. If it's doing the deflating "water change" thing and gaping mouth that's worse than a no light faded nem Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. It has not touched my sponge or my zoas. A guy came over and he said his ate all his zoas only after it matured. I only keep a few now ..... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Thanks for embedding ERC. Well. Drinking and Reefing don't mix. Oh well! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Beautiful tank. Mad props on the red dragon I can't keep it !
  11. We are talking 100% water change every day. and I'm not even comfortable with that. Tangs poop a lot. Display tank water has no bacteria on it. Even if you used live rock 2 years old covered in bacteria I would still worry. Get that thing out of there. Even trace amounts of ammonia will sicken the fish to where it won't eat. 12. Ammonia will be a challenge in a 10g. Lots of water change and have an ammonia badge in there.
  13. Thanks guys! I caught my clownfish with their pants down laying eggs. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UBa9RlitvTY Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Here are some updates. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Put in a new GFI. Had this happen before
  16. Don't ever change anything before a vacation. I have learned that the hard way a couple times. I wouldn't go that long without feeding my fish because it's just not a fair way to treat them. Will they live yea probably
  17. +1 I ran into problems with dosing nitrate. Food is a much safer way and much more natural.
  18. How often do you change out your carbon? I just started running some
  19. What test kits are you using? Is the tank packed full of coral? I think it's pretty rare for a new tank to run too clean. Usually it's mature tanks packed with large corals. If the test kits are sensitive to low numbers the the problem is definitely tank too clean
  20. You said you adjusted alk with a water change. Do small water changes (but more often) a large water change can cause an alk swing among other swings (temperature, salinity, etc)shocking sps coral. Any alk swing is bad we know that for sure and in my opinion alk should slowly be adjusted only with a drip doser .2dkh max per day in an sps tank. Any fluctuation and i see problems though. If it doesn't test the same every time I get worried. Also leaving skimmer off can make the pH fluctuate as the tank isn't blowing off CO2? I don't know a lot about that but it might be something you want to look into. It's so important that some people run skimmer intake to fresh air. SPS tanks that have the harder acros require a lot of attention to detail to keep colors and keep stuff alive it's a fun challenge
