  1. Three buckets of some nice sized pieces of live rock, a file size square tupperware of coral sand and a 29 glass and 10 glass drilled tanks. Free. All have been out of tank for a long time. If you are willing, I would be open to some frags at some point in future when I get back to office tank, but I have gotten rid of home tank. But if you just want it for free its your too. Pickup ASAP. Falls Church.
  2. Hi... sorry I disappeared.  I’ve moved and just been overwhelmed.  If you are still interested I can measure the room for the sump.  Basically the sump would fit in the dimensions of the tank which were listed except for maybe height of the sump area.  There no middle posts in the sump or an open back with a support in the middle.    Let me know if you are still interested.  Thanks.

Great... I won’t get back to the tank till tomorrow afternoon and can measure sump then.  I could also FaceTime you when I am there if you want to see it that way.  I will have access if you wanted to come by on Saturday or Sunday.  I am near 7 corners in Falls church, va.  My cell is 202-210-5947 if you want to talk

  3. Please see the craigslist posting .... is a great set up but injuries have kept me from being able to take care of it. You can see current pictures and the way it looked when it was beautiful. Lots of extras included. Current livestock is a large serpent star, an engineer gobie (which I would prefer to keep) and a couple of soft corals and one hard coral, but the beauty now is that it is a great tank set up with beautiful cherry cabinetry and a large tank in a small footprint. Will need a good cleaning. https://washingtondc.craigslist.org/nva/for/d/large-furniture-grade-reef/6438850976.html. Thanks for looking
  4. Hi, My dad has been a member with wamas for a long time. I'm his 11 year old son. I wanted to setup a small tank. He has a 8 gallon biocube that has been sitting around the house for while. I am planing on setting that up and I need some stock for it. I was wondering if anybody had some small fish that they are selling. If anybody has a recommendation for any fish that would be very helpful and if anybody has experience with this tank that has ideas about how to set the tank up. I planing to have a rock some corals and some small fish. I was wondering if it was I good idea to have an anemone in this tank. Thanks, Adin
  5. I have a 155 reef tank and have in the past infrequently added Essential Elements or Coral Vital. I also feed corals infrequently with Marine Snow. I pretty consistently add two part dosing. Occasionally a little iodine and Magnesium/strontium. Very lax on water changes but corals and fish are thriving. I need to get some salt and was looking through Dr. Foster's catalogue and they have so many different coral supplements I though I would check to see if anyone has some favorites, probably to replace the Essential Elements/coral Vital. Thanks.
  6. Really sorry to hear about this.... and wishing you luck getting it all back healthy and beautiful again.... every time I've been considering getting out after some major losses and major time dumps I ended up getting a bigger tank!! i'm interested in knowing more about people's experiences with the REd Slime remover, which I have used a couple of times with out the bad results you had.
  7. Never heard fo the waterbug... how does it work? Sounds interesting/helpful (alot cheaper than a contractor or a therapist) and I may want it. Thanks.
  8. I have a 72 gallon bowfront with stand that I wanted to sell but I haven't worked hard at it and would be happy to donate it to Children's. The center brace needs to be replaced and I have the replacement part (plastic trim that goes over the top of the tank. It is RR with corner overflow and sump. And a hood which is rectangular and not bow front. I could sell cheap some T 5 lighting and a skimmer or if they don't have the money i could donate it.
  9. I fairly recently upgraded to a 130 which is 4ft wide, curved corners and very tall. I have to stand on a tall stepladder and take the hood off to be able to barely reach the bottom with my fingertips. Next time I will buy a more accessible tank. Anyways, I was looking for advice on what people thought was the best algae cleaners/scapers, magnetic or otherwise, since it is so hard to get my arm in the tank. Thanks
  10. thanks much for all the hard work.
  11. Thanks for the responses. I will not get either. And Dave, wanted to thank you for your comments about my suicided Naso Tang. In fact, after the power outage I did not empty the skimmer and later that week my wife spoke of an awful smell coming from downstairs so maybe the naso's death might have had something to do with the skimmer turning back on. Though none of the other fish or corals seemed to have been affected.
  12. I am thinking of getting one of these to add some bright red color to my tank. Any suggestions/guidance as to hardiness, longevity, appeal, growth? Thanks.
  13. We stayed at Villas Del Mar Hau in Isabela... the beach in front has a huge rock protecting the cove from the waves so it is good for kids and also a fun place to snorkel. On the south western side of the island there is a biolumenescent bay which was really cool to swim in at night. I also went to Vieques a couple of years ago and had a great time. Kayaked in a biolumenescent bay and visited a black sand beach.
  14. thanks for the help... too late... he was dead by the time I went back downstairs, maybe even before I wrote the post. Weird. 4 days without power. After the first day with a battery powered air pump and occasional water pump to move th water around with a battery inverter, I put the lights on the past two nights. Everything in this tank looked fine and didn't notice any die off. He was 7 1/2 inches and very beautiful. Eating well. Active. Fat and healthy. My favorite fish. Passed by the tank and he was jetting up to the top, down to the bottom, bumped into some rocks and scratched his face, and then was upside down on the bottom of the tank. A matter of seconds. Seemed to move gills a little which is when I ran upstairs to write post but when I returned downstairs there was already a hermit crab grabbing his mouth. I picked him up and tried to move him around a bit to see if I could get some air in him but no go. AARGGHH!!!!!
  15. after finally felling like i can relax after 4 days without power and everything in my home tank looking ok I just saw my naso tang divebombing around the tank for 15 seconds and now lying upside down on the floor looking seconds from death. All of this completely out of the blue and suddenly. Any ideas? thanks
