  1. Really cool idea guys! What’s the price going to be and is it quiet?
  2. It’s the tub I used to hold a bunch of rock and corals I didn’t want in my tanks on my last system. I have always ran external skimmers. i got half the rock in the right side of the tank yesterday and hopefully will have energy to do the left side soon. It really created a lot more space for corals since everything isn’t at the same level anymore.
  3. What I mean. Y not sure about is I am not sure if I should put that whole family in my tank or not. Anyone have experience with these shrimp?
  4. Haha good one! I would love to see a new fts when you can take one. Also, have you had the same rocks for a long time too or have you swapped out portions of rock for new live rock at points in time?
  5. Thanks everyone. I got the rock from kp and it looks good. I cleaned it last night and everything was alive even being wrapped in paper. The only thing I found that I am not sure about is a whole family of Florida pistol shrimp. Male and female and a number of little babies. Other than that I am going to get the rock put in and try to rescape around them best I can. I think I may have to remove a few of my least favorite pieces to make it easy.
  6. Or let your profile pic loose up there! That kitten is too cute. We have a little black one that’s got blue eyes it reminds me of.
  7. If you qt yourself then just use divers den. Money back guarentee can’t be beat and the fish are fine. None of the local stores will have much fish stock right now that I am aware of.
  8. Yea I like to call myself a collector but I know i am just lying to myself, but it makes me feel better either way
  9. I took some pics of my tank with the pumps off today and figured I would share them with everyone. I posted a build thread on the r2r sps forum if you wanna check it out and learn more about the tank. I used the Rubbermaid because it is very simple, I don’t see into it every time I walk by and feel like I need to fiddle with things and the top down view of acropora is the best way to view it. I just switched to 400w ushio 14k bulbs so the acros are still acclimating as well as recovering color and health from a nutrient spike from adding fish but it’s still going pretty well. I am adding some kp live rock this week and rescaling would I figured I would post some pics before I do that. I am also running 4 orpek 3’ bars. 3 blue and one uv.
  10. Wow I missed this video. Tank looks like it’s ready to just let take off. Sorry you had so many pest issues man, I wonder if one of these big vendors is letting them through or if they came from hobbiests. I have had decent luck this time so far. Let me know when the blue matrix grows big enough to share.
  11. Yea I agree it shouldn’t be an issue. A septic system is large and the amount of bacteria and other stuff in the tank won’t even be touched with most any reefers waste water.
  12. Your website says you open at 10 on sat and that the shop is opened. And your previous post says you will have the store back opened by last sat. I just stopped by and the closed sign is on and it says the shop is closed and only curbside pickup is still available. Previously I have looked on your website for hours then drove out to find the hours are totally different. Don’t make it so hard for us to buy from you. If your still closed from the covid then post it on your site to save others from a trip. I don’t know how many times I have told myself I am not coming back but man...
  13. With as many led lights that I have had issues with I would say you won’t be 100% good no matter what you get. Too many parts and variables ime.
  14. Ok would strongly suggest anyone that has aefw and can’t take the corals out to dip or just doesn’t want to mess with it to try the flat worm stop method or better yet give the wormwood a try since no one has reported any issues with either. As long as you can be patient for 6 months or more it should work. I would suggest basting all acros during the treatment as much as you can to keep the worms off the corals they like. This will help speed up the process of getting rid of them.
  15. Did you try Mexican turbo snails?
  16. I used the flat worm stop to rid a tank of aefw. It worked amazingly at the double dose. I truest feel like kz knew it would work for ridding the tanks but decided to make the dose small enough to not rid the tank and have the people buy it for as long as the tank was up. Just a feeling but could be way off. The wormwood treatment is the same and defiantly needs more people to try it so we can be sure it’s working the same as the fws but so far most have said it worked the same. Anyone here that needs help or advice for aefw can pm me. Or any acro related pest for that matter.
  17. I would just switch to any upflow style reactor and would think it would work much better. Not much experience with the brs reactors. Or if your just running carbon use a mesh bag and ditch the reactor all together. It’s really only good for a few days then it’s not doing much anyways. I use a bag and change it every week.
  18. Rik how is that reactor running for you these days? It really had me wanting to try it next. I have ran a few reactors and as long as you use a carbon doser and a masterflex then it’s a cakewalk. I don’t use ph probes anymore they just cause extra problems. Maybe would for a backup but it’s not even needed really.
  19. Good start! I don’t remember seeing the old tank back 5 years ago either, sad I missed it. Looked awesome grown in! Do you have a pic before you cut all the corals out?
  20. Thanks looking good, let’s see a Tank shot of it now that the rocks have cycled.
  21. Those kinda remind me of what an orange teletubby’s _______ might look like
  22. Ehiem pumps should be silent from my experience. If it’s just vibration then get a good pad. If it’s not just vibration maybe somethings not right with the pump.
  23. That’s cool, I have something on a rock that looks like a thin brown clam that has been alive on the rock for 10 years and I have always wondered what it is because it hasn’t really grown much but is alive and opens up and closes.
  24. or you could add a union instead of moving the drain but you would just have to shut the return down when you need to clean the sump which I guess some people do anyways.
  25. Is the event horizon mainly orange? Solid orange mille are hard to find, though ones with green are sometimes just as cool and easier to get. The event horizon looks bright in the pics! I had a nice orange mille in my last tank. Didn’t sell too many frags but would love to get a piece back if someone has it.
