Tang

Tang (6/13)

  1. The solenoid is attached to the product water outlet before it hits the tank with the float valve. The solenoid would automatically be powered on Saturday morning fill the tank and when the float valve on the tank applied enough back pressure, the RO's auto shutoff would kick in. At a defined interval the outlet would get powered off so when the water level dropped the solenoid provided the back pressure. I remember reading that the solenoid had a 'working pressure' limit and I think my home water pressure exceeded that number which was why I didn't put it on the RO Input line. The only thing I didn't like about this was that I always had a pressurized RO system and I didn't know if that would have any adverse effects on the RO Unit. For that reason I also had a manual valve on the input line that I'd sometimes (as in if I remembered) shut off on Sunday and turn it back on on Friday.
  2. I put a float switch near the bottom of my water tank and connected it to my apex. When the water level hit the switch it opened a Neptune solenoid for 3 hours to fill it. To prevent overflows my RO had an auto-shutoff and the input line to the tank went through a float valve to make sure it didn’t overflow. I also had the program fill the tank every Saturday regardless. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  5. Happy Labor Day Wamas! This is my first rodeo with a CaRx and was wondering if seeing a bunch of bubbles at the top of the reactor is common. It seems to build up after about a week. Here's what I'm seeing below, normal/not-normal? Thanks in advance! Ernie
  6. Wow good stuff - I think I'm going to save a lot not having to buy RoundUp! So message received - DON'T DO IT! Thanks WAMAS! As always good people here.
  7. Hi Wamas! I'm about to purchase a new home that has city water but septic tank for sewer. I've always been on city sewer so I never gave WC or CWC (what I have now) much thought wrt the waste water. Now though, I'm scratching my head as to the affect of 5g of SW a day on a septic system. Any folks out there running Continuous Water Changes and dumping the wastewater into a Septic Tank? Is it a no no? Things to look out for? Thanks!!!
  8. I still use one on my 40 breeder and it does everything I need. They are good units and if all you’re looking for is basic control, I’d say go for it. This one controls my t5, heater, dos, kessil (via VDM port) return pump and skimmer. It’s been running for 4 yrs now without a hiccup. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Yeah - I have a T5/Kessil over my 40 Breeder and always liked the shimmer (that was my favorite part of MH). I'm tempted to keep one Kessil just to get that additional motion.
  10. What's the shimmer like? Or is it more flat like pure T5?
  11. I agree here. While I don’t watch this forum as part of my hobby ‘fix’, I like that I can go to one place to see all that’s for sale in one thread. I used to do the same at R2R but I didn’t like the split forum. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. I’d love to see a pic of that. The photos I saw of the blue were pretty blue. Still like the adjustability of the pro though. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. I didn’t really give that much consideration since I had radion gen 3 lights before and they grew coral really well. For me it was just an aesthetic question and ecotech has been making great products for years. While I want my coral to grow, I’m not a farm so rapid growth just isn’t my goal. In the end since the blue is tuned to run AB+ out of the box, and you’re ok with always being blue, you might eek out a little more growth assuming you chemistry and flow are ‘perfect’, there’s a lot of variables at play when it comes to growth. 14. I can’t tell you what to get but I just struggled with this same question and went with the pro for the same reason stated. Sometimes I may want to see the tank in a 12-14K. I popped open one of the pros when it arrived and set it up on mobius to get a feel of how blue AB+ was and it’s plenty blue for me. Here’s a pic of the light at 50%. Give a week or so and I can send you a pic with the lights hanging. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Thanks Isaac - she’s in 100g (48x24x21h) and with a juvi chevron tang and a lyretail anthias. She’s about 4-5inches. I have some frozen blood worms I can try. So I’ll give that a shot. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
