  1. IMO, way too small of a tank. They're in a 125g w/ the water filled about 6 inches from the top, just so they have enough space to get on the platform to bask. I ended up adopting 2 from friends many years ago.
  2. Thanks, I'll definitely keep this option open. These turtles have been raised since they were only 1" small and they are now around 6-7". They've been raised indoors their entire life and fed daily w/ pellets and fresh veggies. Do you think they would survive the transition to the outdoor pond, extreme weather variances, and feeding situation?
  3. It's been a while since I've been on here and my paid membership expired. I don't recall if there was an off topic forum or if I just can't view it. I have 4 fully grown red eared slider turtles that I don't have the time or space to take care of them properly any more. Does anyone know the best place to either give them away or sell them? I need to find them new homes. Thanks
  4. Nice tank. Do you have any side shots?
  5. I've been using 3 of the older (no light indicator) ones for the past couple years with no incident. This is making me nervous.
  6. Did you cycle the tank before putting adding the fish?
  7. that's awesome. wish mine would do the same! lol
  8. My yellow watchman of 2 months stays hidden 99% of the time. I didn't see him for the first 3-4 days until I found his hiding spot. He usually comes out to eat briefly.
  9. My yellow watchman hid for a few days when I first got it. Til this day, he stays hidden under a rock for the majority of the time. :(
  10. Take a look at the SWC 120 (might be too small for your tank) or 160 (the 160 might not fit)... but I'm reading a lot of good things about these. You don't have a lot of room to work with. Do you have enough space and would you consider running an external skimmer?
  11. The RS80 fits in the 6.5x15" space? I thought it had a footprint of closer to 10x10...
  12. Regarding your loclines, drill a small hole under the bottom side of a link that sits above the water line. When your power goes out, it'll stop the siphon.
  13. So sorry to hear about this. Our dog had cancer also and I know how expensive it can get. Hope the surgery works out.
  14. 4ft? Sounds like it could eat a person.
  15. Im interested in the yellow watchman and nassarius. Sending pm.
  16. I've never notice mine grazing over any cyano...
  17. I use an Eheim 3581. I also 2 brand new ones for a sale for $28. PM me if you're interested.
  18. It was a good reminder post (some just missed the point). I too never bothered to check for small purchases like this, but it also happened to me when I purchased Super Tongan Nassarius snails only to find out when I got home that most of them were of the smaller variety. The time and drive back wasn't worth it to me so I chalked it up as a lesson learned to do my due diligence.
  19. I've also been thinking about this. Prices have dropped considerably from 3yrs ago when I bought my place and now I would only be able to cover about 70% of the mortgage if I rented my place out. When you said you're 125k underwater, does that mean the value of your house has dropped by 125k or you owe 125k?
  20. Thanks. I was worried that cutting off a thick section might kill it.
  21. Is there a spot on this coral where I shouldn't cut? It's about 6-7" and I'm thinking of cutting it near the root to give to a friend. It has a pretty thick base, about 1" in diameter. Or if I wanted to cut it in half, would that be ok also? I'm not talking about cutting just a branch off, but instead almost directly in half from the main stem.
  22. Hey, if you're breaking it down, I'll take the flame angel. Sending you a pm. Thanks edit: guess your pm doesnt work. how much do you want for it?
  23. I'm using their dual switch and haven't had any issues.
