Man, Im glad to hear that nothing serious happened. Definitely not the first time I've heard of these things catching on fire or being related to a fire. I got rid of mine long ago... it's just not worth it.

Sorry to hear about the suicide... it really sux! When I first bought my mandarin, I remember that it would jump around in the bag from being scared during the acclimation process.

Yea, but my guy was at least 1.5" long... It's just hard for me to picture it jumping through the 1 centimeter opening. :(

That's the thing... I have "egg crates" covering the entire top of my tank. I dont think it would be possible for it to jump out and fit in between the small square openings. I think it had to climb out.

Whoops.... forgot to mention the most important part! It was dead... :(

To my surprise, I came home yesterday to find one of my peppermint shrimps on the floor of my room! I had two in my tank and they were both very bold. They would actively compete for food and come up to the surface of the water, but I would've never imagined a shrimp could climb out of my tank. Has this ever happened to anyone else? I even have egg crate covering the entire top of my tank! Strange...

Anyone know where I could get a couple holes drilled in a tank? Actually, my friend is looking to buy a 100+ gallon tank and was wondering how much it would cost to get a couple holes drilled and where it could be done.

In addition to what Jason mentioned, I also had success with various zoas positioned higher in the tank.

Hmm... does anyone hear regularly use Amquel or Prime with their RO/DI water? I've never used it im my SW tanks and don't like to change the current method when things are running smoothly, but it seems like it could be cheap insurance as opposed to buying extra filters, etc.
