  1. I have a Kessil 360 with spectrum controller that keeps turning off. The light and controller are about 5 years old. The only way to get it back on is to unplug and plug the ballast back in. But it happens every day. I’ve cleaned the dust out of the light assembly and still having the issue. Anyone have a suggestion on fixing this? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. I started out with and still have a 28gal bio cube all in one tank. I feel it’s the best size where it’s large enough to have good size fish and coral but not overwhelming or complicated for maintaining and water changes. Difficult but definitely not impossible to keep SPS in smaller tanks like that though. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. I believe bulk reef supply had a good video on a general set up Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Reef escape escape is in Fairfax. They quarantines there live stock before putting them in the sell tanks and they have been good with fulfilling live orders. There prices I’ve found to be slightly higher but I feel it’s worth it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Where is local? Iv had very good experience with Reef Escape, Supreme Reefs, and Centerville Aquarium. Centerville has a larger inventory or fish but not corals. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. I don’t have personal experience but my buddy had a septic tank and he said dumping salt water in it is a big no no. He just had a part of his yard that he didn’t care about and dumped it there. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Yikes is right! Bummer to hear about that. What would you say the overall care and maintenance is for them? Did you decide to rebuild after the epic bucket destruction? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Hello WAMAS any of you have experience with Jellyfish setups? Im thinking of doing one but not sure if I’d get a prefabricated set up or do something myself. Probably wouldn’t be lager then 20 gal do to the space I have. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. I have a small goldfish pond in my backyard (about 150 gal), I use it to top that off. I have never had issues. It is heavily planted so I feel the pants do a lot of filtering. The only time Iv lost a fish is when a raccoon or something get in. I definitely don’t think I would use it for a small indoor tank. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. So I’m setting up a chaeto reactor and just need a light source now. The reviews for most of the LED strips on amazon are bad they say the power box burn out quick. Anyone have experience or a link to where I can find a reliable one? Thanks. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. I was actually on BRS today looking at other test kits. I suppose I could does my ATO with Kalkwasser but obviously need to get accurate test reading first. I was just really surprised that they were all looking really well one day and had been for 2 weeks then after glueing them bleached in 3 days. Something I read on line said sometimes acros just really don’t like being removed from the water even just for a short time. Stressed them out to much [emoji2369]. Ether way I feel new test kits are my first step. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Yeah I like this hobby way to much to give it up. I have no problem taking a few steps back and reassessing rather then kicking it all to the curb. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. my eyes might not be that great for matching the color. I never tested regularly until this past year or dosed. Did my water changes and everything looked great. What are the alk test kits you guy recommend? I’m definitely going back to the drawing board. All my softies and LPS are ok, the monti I have is still doing fine but really would like a few more SPS. I feel I need a better ways to maintain water quality other then just water changes. Maybe a hang on back refugium or something. My tank is in the living room so space and keeping it quiet is key. Been researching Mangroves (my friend said planting 2 in his tank did wonders for phosphate/nitrates). Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Iv been using an API test kit. I don’t have a sump/refugium so I think I need some better way to keep cal, alk, and ammonia under control other then just water changes. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Maybe these were the readings I got the morning of before I did a water change. All my other corals look ok. The Rainbow acro browned a little bit but is fine now. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
