hey long time no see hope you and yours are safe and well. Actually this tanks been running since august. And ran fallow for many months. Just inverts. but anyway I did a Few big water changes and that chemi pure blue is doing a good job. The rock works slowly turning a pale green instead of bright like green. so it’s dying off.

I’ve never come across this problem before. It’s possibly this lighting it’s a cheap 10k white and Acintics led. But anyway. Everything’s turning green. I have 2 astrea snails and 2 cerinth and they wasn’t even putting a dent. I went today and got a big turbo and some chemi pure blue. (This stuffs nice my water is like glass) I honestly don’t know what my phosphates are I don’t have a tester for that. Ammo and trites are 0 trates are under 20 I do my water changes every Sunday. I run this light about 8 hours all on and 2 hours just the blue. im literally cleaning the glass everyday and my rocks are lime green. livestock is one clown and a few inverts Fed pellets once a day not over feeding and a hammer coral and a GSP. is their anything else I can do? I don’t think it’s coralline cus it’s a green powdery film on the glass I never tried scrubbing the rocks themselves. I wanted chaeto but I can’t seem to get my hands on any. oh and I’m getting my rodi and salt water from reef escapes self serve stations.

So I was using an aquaneat simple led light on my 5G. My hammer loved it. Today the thing sparked and blew up Idk I guess cus it’s too old. Bought it 2nd hand. Most of the leds were going out anyway. my concern is; My tank won’t be in complete darkness during the day. Light comes in the room. It doesn’t get direct sunlight. But some light. I ordered a new light it won’t be here til Tuesday and it doesn’t have a dimmer or anything just on off or blues only. Am I gonna put that hammer coral into shock by turning it on full power? lol it’s a small tank I don’t have much room to play with when it comes to redirecting lights. And I’m not sure if a lamp dimmer from walmart/Home Depot will work on it.

How would I go about buying a fish and cuc from you guys? Do I just call with a list of what I want and come by and give you my credit card?

I’ve done two 100% water changes. It’s a loosing battle even dosing prime. The skeleton on my favorite hammer is white. Almost bleached, The rest will slowly die. I’m gonna rehome what’s left for free to save them Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Since the crash from the power outage Everything’s just going down hill. Waters very milky corals are pissed. Theirs dead pods everywhere im removing them the best I can. Snails and hermits are climbing to the top I guess for oxygen. I did a huge water changes for its size and nothing. I added a carbon filter pad. I pointed the power head completely up to the surface to make oxygen. I opened windows for fresh air. Idk what else to do. Do I just wait it out? The way things look I’m expecting a total wipeout any day. And I need to leave to Florida next week :( Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

lol ya the mean one stays on top corner at the mag float. The smaller one stays on the opposite side trying to host the frogs and hammers getting used to they’re sting. Then she sees him and chases him.

They were never meant to be in there long. They’ve only been in there less 2-3 weeks ive successfully done it before a few times.

It’s only a 5 gallon I’m in the process of getting a bigger tank. Their regular osc. The mean ones bigger than the beat up one. He even wiggles to show submission but she doesn’t seem to care. I’ll call the fish store and see if they’ll take the mean one lol. I think they’re closed today. I just checked she’s at the top of the tank and he’s hiding under my hammer lights are off.

I’ve never had this problem. My clowns always got along. I bought these together they was fine but lately ones really beating the other up bad. Then their fine swimming together. Then she randomly chases him around violently I had to put the lid on cus he jumped trying to get away from her. His fins are all nippedThe other is not nipped. I am afraid she’s going to kill him. He’s eating fine. His fins regenerate in days then she nips them off again. He hides under the rock I turned the lights off so she can’t see him. I don’t know do I rehome her or him it’s a matter of time before she kills him. She’s like really out for him. I don’t have another tank to seperate them. When the lights are off she seems to leave him alone. But I have a few coral so I can’t stay dark long. I never tried putting my hand in to see if she attacks my hand. But she’s a meanie. And it’s not when he comes to one side of the tank no she goes looking for him lol

So I have a 4 headed Duncan and I noticed brown hair algae growing on the skeleton. So I tried brushing it off with a new toothbrush and it came off it’s skeleton base as soon as I put the brush to it. All 4 heads are still connected to eachother. It seems to be responding to light opening closing. Hermit walked over it it closed. Then opened again. my question is. Will it die? Or will it grow a new skeleton. It’s pretty much just a 4 branched stem right now I moved it up onto the rock from the sand bed because theirs nothing supporting it but it’s stem body and it was rolling around in the sand from the flow.

I got two trochus and two cerinth. The trochus are really going to town on the algae the cerinth aren’t coming out of their shells guess their adjusting. Thanks for the tips guys. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Ok I never had this problem before idk. I’m not using tap water. I turned off the blues to show how green this thing is and I don’t wanna take it out and scrub it because it’s “Alive” now it’s made of crushed coral I don’t wanna kill my BB. I need to go get those snails just my stores are closed when I’m free. And I refuse to buy from petco their tanks are full of that red slime. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
