  1. looks like it got stung by a coral. Should go away.
  2. Welcome. You will enjoy the meeting for sure. When you get some time post some pictures of your setups. We all love pictures here.
  3. We both got our pumps at the same time. Both for a 150 build funny enough. I have my controller mounted on my stand, but the fan and heatsink are open to the air. I have been fortunate thus far. Also mine has never went to the wrong setting once after feed mode. Maybe you had a bad one....or maybe I have a really good one. I don't know lol
  4. I still have the original dc12000 when the guys at QR got 2 of them early. Haven't had a single issue. **knocks on wood**
  5. My mag foxface doesn't allow algae to grow anywhere in my tank. It is really nice to be bubble algae and GHA free
  6. Oh and welcome to WAMAS!
  7. Matt I work in Chantilly and could grab the one at IC for ya.
  8. I run a caluerpa mix and don't have any issues with it at all. (I do have it blocked off in the sump so it doesn't get into the display) All my herbivores eat it too.
  9. Yeah that guy was a buddy of mine I have been helping. His chromis had the same illness issues as OP stated. He couldn't save any of the three he bought. He got his from HoT. HoT had to throw out over 40 chromis because of this disease.
  10. Might wanna check out uronema marinum. Chromis as of recent have been plagued with this disease. https://www.google.com/search?site=&source=hp&ei=VTsoVbDrKoKoNoWOgLAE&q=uronema&oq=uronema&gs_l=mobile-gws-hp.3..0l5.1561.2827.0.3399.9.8.1.2.2.1.261.1097.0j5j2.7.0.msedr...0...1c.1.64.mobile-gws-hp..2.7.682.3.mx9aNiftMDE#q=uronema+marinum+chromis
  11. By far my favorite fish in my reef. Keeps all my algae in check. GLWS!
  12. Matt just an FYI, I have a pretty empty 150 still up and running. I won't be moving down to NOVA until after my kids get out of school this summer time frame. Let me know if you need stuff housed.
  13. Now spectrum of the CFL is where I think it gets hazy. I tried a 6500k bulb (100w equivalent) and a 2700k (100w equivalent) and had better growth with the lower spectrum bulb. I have heard others say the exact opposite of what I have.
  14. I have been using a CFL on a clip on for a long time and grows macro like a champ. Best bang for your buck. Not sure how well it would grow the corals though.
  15. Another option is a par38 bulb. I'm sure someone on the forums had one laying around they could sell you.
  16. Not a cheap option but works great. http://www.bulkreefsupply.com/auqa-gadget-magnafuge-innovative-marine.html
  17. I think I remember buying them as ring of fire too. I really dislike playing the Zoa name game when trying to sell them. People always want a name instead of do you like what they look like or not.
  18. Yeah I have some Alpha Omega's and I love them too
  19. Not sure what these are called if anything at all. So asking here first.
  20. My Mata tang does this all the time. Especially after eating.
  21. Welcome Scott. Look forward to helping you setup a nice reef along the way.
  22. Welcome and a 90 is a good upgrade from a 29 cube.
  23. +1
  24. I have been running my RLSS DC12000 with no issues for about 1yr 8mo. It is the Gen2 version. That being said myself and another WAMAS'er both got our pumps at the exact same time (early release shipment) and her controller broke, but a replacement one was sent. So its hit or miss like anything in this hobby.
