    I feel that it's a detritus trap just like Marcos said above. Ever since I started using filter socks though, I've noticed less waste building up. I plan on cleaning my fuge in a week or so leaving just the tonga branches and cheato. it should make cleaning a little easier.

    I had leftover sand from my tank and didnt want it to dry so I dumped it in the fuge along with some live rock and cheato.

    Ello Wamas, I am currently using live sand and liverock in my refugium and was thinking about making a switch to either Miracle Mud or Fiji Mud. Anyone use those before?? If so, do you reccomend the items or feel it's not worth the extra money?

    What color is your octopus? I think it depends on the color the glass. I believe some reds contain copper, some blues contain cobalt etc...

    I would do the same thing! As a side note, I rearranged the rock work in my tank and added a few rocks. In the process I accidentally broke a few corals. I will let the broken pieces heal and add to SWAP.

    I was going to suggest making a new stand too; or maybe buying a new cabinet that open completely. It'll save more room if you can keep the sump/refugium underneath,

    Heed all warnings! Rinse off and declorinate rocks as best as possible. Wear proper PPE. The gas mask saved my nose, the goggles saved my eyes and the gloves saved my skin (at least my hands). Perform task outside as well. Last thing you want is to trap all gases in your house.
