  3. Did you have a discounted shipping to VA? Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  4. I actually scrape the bottom to keep it white.. I can't get it all but can keep it looking pretty good... Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  5. I run my tank barebottom, with the glass painted white. The easiest thing was mentioned above. Get your flow right and it will create a pile for you. Siphon is out when needed. I sometimes skip the water change and just siphon the junk into a filter sock in the sump. Works for me and the white bottom looks great IMO. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  6. Why no frame? I use tulle for all my tops, but with a screen frame Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  7. I love the flipper.. works perfectly on my 120.. I have the regular size.. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  8. Haha the one i had didn't agree... Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  9. I think this is my best option... I can affix a long piece of rigid airline tubing to the syringe and reach them... How does kalk impact corals? There is one little patch right under a big toadstool... Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  10. My starry has been fine for a year or so.. great fish... neither of the blennies are THAT great at algae control though.. they will help, but won't control it.. Pic of him.. looks like he is hiding from the shark haha... Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  11. Yea I can't reach them, I was hoping one of the products I could get as close as possible and squirt haha.. wishful thinking... Considered a filefish.. just know my zoas and gorgonians and multiple euphyllia may notice.. same with a butterfly... Again it's not an outbreak by any means, and most people wpudlnt notice. I am just borderline obsessive on a clean pest free tank... Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  12. Is there a product or solution that does not have to be injected? That can just be squirted on the aptasia? Also, is that same product harmful to other corals that are nearby? What about rock flower nems (not very close, but in tank) Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  13. Whelp, pep shrimp aren't an option. I found one locally (only had one) and he was hanging out the mouth of my harlequin basslet after about 10 mins in tank... Ugh Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  14. Man, you must get some good prices... 25 peppermints gonna run much more than 100 bucks... Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  15. Thanks for the comments, there are literally like 10 aptasia. I could have each of you over and you likely wouldn't see them... I just prefer to stay on top of potential problems.. going to give the pepermints a try and see how it goes. I suspect my harlequin basslet might eat them, but we will see... 16. A couple of mine grow fast, a couple slower. Really depends on the type I think. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  17. 120 mixed reef update Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  18. So I have always taken pride in keeping my tank free of pests and nuisance algae etc... I have had aptasia in the past and has luck smothering them with superglue.. I noticed the other day there was a large one at the back of my rock work and a couple small ones near it... I cannot reach this location.. they are not near any corals, but I know they can/Will spread.. What are my options? Again I cannot reach them for glue, kalk, lemon juice etc... Pep shrimp- will they also eat my acans, zoas, euphyllias? Copperband- same question.. also only a 120 gallon... Anything else that works? Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  19. This.. I have had both and did not care for the flow pattern of the gyre.. running two is better as it offsets some of the one way flow... Either one would be best with something opposing it. Two or 3 powerheads on a lower setting from different angles really is ideal IME... one mp40 will push the whole 4 foot side to side.. but the depth from front to back might not get adequate coverage... 20. I am also running a T5 LED mix.. by far the best I have had Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  21. I have a few sps too that do ok... I have around 25 or so different zoas Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  22. It's hard to beat a grown in zoa garden... I have 3 or 4 spots growing in and one nice garden that is full Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  23. Yea those are sweet... nice pics Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  24. Some new pics Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  25. Try taking a turkey baster and blowing them off... sometimes there is algae or other stuff that covers them up Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
