I purchased a used Apex Classic with the controller. I have figured out how to program lights, heaters, etc. I need some help with the Avast ATO. It is wired into a breakout box and float switch. I plugged the breakout box into the I/O port on the Aqua Controller. I cannot figure out how to program the ATO using the Apex controller display. I read online something about SW1 etc.. but I don’t see that as an option in the programming. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Nice photos and tank! How long has the tank been running? That Prime cover it well? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

That light should grow about anything you want with the appropriate placement etc. T5s are still pretty popular, I prefer T5 and LED mix for lighting. Bulbs are tricky haha.. ATI blue plus seems to be the “go to” on a 4 bulb maybe 2/3 blue plus and then a whiter bulb to offset it some. I probably would skip the actinic in a 4 bulb setup. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

They all get along well with each other... they get 2 feedings from the auto feeder with pellets and 1 pretty heavy frozen feeding a day.. so I think that helps... As for the corals.... Wellllll... I decided that I was going to add the fish I wanted and then manage their nipping by removing what corals they taste... so that is what I have been doing... the emperor has nipped at some cloves a few times.. a few zoas and a couple other things... doesn’t seem to decimate them yet... so I remove some and just let some be... as I said I decided when I put him in I was going to be ok with some nipping as it was a fish I always wanted to watch grow up Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I have been extremely pleased with the Red Sea lights so far.. I have had just about every light on the market haha.. I would probably put them just behind AI and EcoTech as far as higher end lighting... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Unfortunately there are very few saltwater fish a hobbyist can breed at home (at least without incredible investment and dedication)... as mentioned you might find someone breeding bangai cardinals, or a clownfish breeder. There really is no such thing as a local fish breeder other than the few varieties. If you want captive bred fish in general, there are many species that companies like ORA, sustainable aquatics, biota and others specialize in. You will be able to find their fish in most fish stores or online. Good luck! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

My tank is a standard 180 and we purposely built the stand tall for viewing. It’s around 45” tall if I remember. I am 5’11 and the top of the tank is about eye level. It’s an absolute pain to work in, I have to use a step stool and sometimes a 6 foot ladder. However the display is absolutely worth it. It’s in our great room and viewable from basically the whole house. So the trade off is worth it IMO. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

That's a great looking tank... do you scrape the bottom to keep it clean? Always loved these long skinny narrow tanks Also what lights are those? Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk -
New lights really make the tank pleasing to the eye. Still plenty of room for more corals and fish! Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk

I do have the 90s.. but they wont be too much especially for a 75... I am running them with T5.. That said, of you wanted to save a few bucks, I think you could get away with the 50s especially on a 55 being only 12" wide... I debated between these and hydras and radions... radions were gong to be so much more money... hydras are very nice, but as I mentioned I really dont want the ability to control each color... I prefer the ease of blue and white.. I also was extremely impressed with the shimmer and crisp colors when I viewed them at a couple LFS... Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk

I just got 3 Red sea reef LED for my 180 and I am pretty impressed so far... corals are responding well and colors look great to my eye... I like the ease of control as I dont care for adjusting too many colors etc.. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk

So do they leave the euphyllia alone? Gorgonians are my favorites...if I could get by with them not getting eat and some euphyllia and leathers.. I think I could handle it haha... then a frag tank for the other stuff Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk -

I have recently decided that my love for fish is beginning to outweigh my desire to keep "designer" corals... I am leaning toward making my tank full of leathers and basic shrooms.. just so I can have some of the non reef safe fish Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk -

What other fish do you have? Any issues with eating fish or cleaner shrimp? Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk

Any thoughts on snowflake? Seems to be the most commonly kept one... I dont have a ton of rock work, which I am also thinking may not be ideal... also not sure how much any of them come out or at least remain visible?? Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk

Considering an eel for my 180, every time I see one at an LFS etc... I am just intrigued by them... What kind do you or have you had? What experiences? Any pics? Thanks! Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
