  1. I had a very friendly Niger trigger before... Wanted to be petted when my hand was in the tank. But I did not hand feed as frankly fingers looks like sausages or shrimps, lol though he routinely got clams and mussels to break and eat
  2. Looking good!
  3. Oh...my..goodness... How sweet! Umm that's all I have to say for a change! And I'll second most of those thanks!
  4. Flatworm exit in a double dose, then 5 days later another dose and then I did a huge water change the next day...
  5. I had these evil things a few years ago... I dipped every single zoa, took a toothbrush to every shop it could find that possible had eggs... But ended up doing a full tank treatment to get rid of them, because they had started to hid in my live rock...
  6. Just rinse it well with rodi and then start your cycling process... No need to bleach or anything else if you rinse well...
  7. Make a wood/plywood tray to set the stand in (if you don't want to retrofit your current stand like this) and roll in some tub/shower liner after using contact cement or silicone... It's a thick grey plastic/rubber p, you caulk the seems and all I'd good and waterproof I did this in the bottom of my stand thinking this is where I likely to have the most water issues...
  8. I think the tank looks stellar for only really being in the hobby for 8 months! Welcome to WAMAS!
  9. dont get a lot of hermits. Max 10 tiny ones for that small of a tank, turbos always good, astreas okay, margaritas good.... Too small for a sand siftin star so later on you'll need some zombie snails (always forget the names of these, lol) And I LOVE cleaner or peppermint shrimp, but that depends in what your putting in it... And as far as local vendors, I get most of my stuff from IC or Quantums, but for purposes of stocking I order from reef cleaners.org His prices are good and always gives you a few extra,,, And he's got really good macro algae so too
  10. I would do a 50/50 vinegar water mix to make sure... But shouldn't be an issue...
  11. There are a few biscuit stars I've seen in the trade... They seem to not last long as they are very intolerant of minor changes... Better off with a linkia..
  12. I've found styrofoam works well as long as the skimmer is heavy, also acrylic risers (used for displays in many store) are easy to find and inexpensive too... I wouldn't trust cinder blocks or other building materials as they could have been kept with petrochemicals...
  13. Hhrrrmmm Well in the little over 10 years I've been involved.... 35g custom acrylic mini predator tank 75g fowler 150g fowler with nems and some zoas 12g cube mini reef 50g reef 5g species And another 150g reef I'm sticking with fowlrs from now on with a few of my favorite corals but no full blown reefs after this one gets taken down...
  14. Ahhhh lots of cool, practical work... Looking good!
  15. Hey Scott, thanks! Had to reset everything on the bridge for the network, so when I connected it to my laptop I just had to go to the bridges website and redo it all...
  16. Love the jawfish!
  17. It is a wireless bridge, I had it going through my home network through my wireless router... It's a netgear WNCE2001 (which was the one Apex recommended) I have not tried connecting through my laptop, I will do that tonight when I up get home from work...
  18. No, I have to have a bridge because the tank is in the basement and the router is upstairs... I set it up through the bridge, when I also setup fusion, but have since upgraded routers.... Which knocked the bridge offline
  19. So, got a new router a while ago, haven't worried about resetting up the apex.. Except of course I'm going to be going on vacation in a few weeks. Want to make sure I can log in through fusion (which was already set up before). But for whatever reason I cannot get my bridge to 'bridge'.... I can get in into my router setting and stuff, but of course they have changed the layout and I don't remember anything... Since I'm not technically inclined :( Any help is appreciated!
  20. Just run some carbon and do another w/c in the morning...
  21. On CBS tonight too... Glad they all decided to spotlight it for 4 minutes...
