  1. thanks for the help of offers. talked to my dad, and he told me my fat butt probably just unlocked the bulbs, so i checked and sure enough, they weren't locked, 3 out of the 4 bulbs worked, bought a replacement ati blue + today at quantum
  2. wow, totally missed that video the first time i posted
  3. I've got a 4 bulb fixture that can has a timer on it, I can have 2 on or 4 on. It has 4 moon light LEDS too. Any suggestions on what I should us? I was thinking about doing blue plus/true actinic first and last then have coral plus/???? come on for midday. Not really sure about the midday needs. I only have soft corals in there and want to get a few acans and other LPS in the future.
  4. So I was doing tank maintenance tonight, and was carrying about 40lbs of water and rock into the kitchen in a 30g container to scrub all the algea off it, well, tripped over my feet, so i was going down, landed on my aqautic life 4' fixture that was sitting on the floor. busted out the supports that suspended it on the tank, not cool. Well after laying on the tile floor in a puddle of salt water, i realized i might have just destroyed a $400 fixture. Finished up my maintenance and went to turn it on with fingers crossed. One of the T5s started to turn on, but no joy. The LED moon lights work fine. Timer display works fine. Think I might have just busted up the bulbs. Does anyone have any used 4' T5 54w bulbs? I'd like to try a used bulb in the fixture to see if it even works before i buy 4 new bulbs.
  5. I had a huge outbreak a while back and was so busy i couldn't get to it in time. I scraped and ciphined it off through a filter sock and just kept taking water out and putting back until I couldn't see any on the glass anymore, then did a 3 day lights out cycle, and a 20% change. I still have a resilent type growing on the rocks alone, i take them out and scrub them down once every 2 weeks during water change
  6. Wife runs a 20g planted tank. I've personally only have 1 50g tank and my 10g QT.
  7. did you season him up with some yellow curry or something? He looks like a gorilla crab i have in my sump.
  8. I might be interested in one or two of your rbta's depending on size and cost, you can PM me with some close ups and costs. Sorry to hear about your troubles and hope you can make it back to the hobby we all love soon.
  9. Reeling, might be hard to sell as a whole. If you decide to piece any of the corals out, or the nems, let me know.
  10. Urchin, thank you so much for the offer. Would definitely take you up on the offer if I lived closer.
  11. Hey fellow reefers. I'm new to the site. Been spending most of my time on reefcentral, but wanted to get in touch with more local reefers. I inherited my Mom's 50g tank with 10g sump Fish Only system in Feb. Dad was tired of taking care of it for Mom, and he never really actually took care of it. Let cyano grow to outrageous size and thickness before needing to break it up and scoop it out. Called it his coral. So Dad brought it all up from NC to MD for Valentines Day weekend. We got it set up and operational, i gave away the few damsels that survived the trip as soon as i could. Scrubbed everything up and let it go through a small cycle. READ READ READ on the forums and now 8 months later, wish i could have had more time to do things how I want them done now. I now have a DIY sump, 2 10g tanks connected with 2 bulkheads, a bubble magus curve 5 skimmer, 650 and 850 gph hydor power heads, no wave controller yet, and an aquitc life 4' 4 T5HO fixture. Working on building my test kit inventory. 10g QT I currently have 4 fish. 2 o. clowns, 1 royal gramma, 1 ruby head wrasse. I've also given in to trying corals. Going soft at first. I have some red mushrooms that are thriving, purplish/blue mushrooms that look the same as when i got them, same time i got the red ones and a green rhodactis mushroom which has not split multiplied at all. Some green star polyps, which I'm told grow like weeds, but just sorta of stay the same for me, some green button polyps, they've grown the most and seem to be thriving, I've got like 5 new heads since I put the first 3 in there. Zoa's - purple people eaters, hurricanes, and bam bams. They look okay. Except this new algae is taking over my hurricane frag. I've added a few photos to photobucket which i just started while I'm at work. Should be working Looking forwarded to being part of the WAMAS family. http://s1379.photobucket.com/user/Mike_Visek/library/Tank%20Stuff
  12. Also, where's a good place locally to get some more chaeto, or does any local reefer see their growth?
  13. I did a DIY sump a while back so so that I could maximise my space under my tank. It's two 10g tanks joined together with 2 bulkheads, one lower, and one higher on opposite sides. I've got my in flow on the left, with skimmer, then 5 gallon area, which leads to another 5 gallon area with my heater, then a return section. I wanted to turn the area after my skimmer into a fuge. I've got this to light it up WavePoint Daylight Micro Sun LED High Output Clamp Light. So i bought the light, bought some chaeto, and started it up. I ran the light for about 10 hours a day. It didn't take long for the cheato to crumble up and get tossed into my display. Any idea what I need to do? I bought the chaeto online and it took 4 full days to get to me. would that be the issue? I want to get it going again and start up some PODS.
  14. When do you expect to list everything?
  15. I've got a CBS that I'd like to give to a new home. He's pretty chill, but he's the only shrimp in the tank and wife wants a a bonded pair of cleaners. Pick up, might need help catching the bugger.
