Like fishman said I wonder about the 2 overflows in the fuge. If more water drains to the new addition will enough water drain to the return in the fuge/skimmer area? You might be better off just placing a large return in the new addition and have that pump to the upstairs reef, then gravity would flow everything back to new addition. This would probably require you to change the fuge set up around though.

Home Depot had uniseals? I have looked and asked at my store but no one knew what I was talking about.

I think you should be fine as long as you are sure they are bristle worms, and not something like a bobbit worm. If you have a fuge or sump you could always put them in there. Its good to have some vinegar on hand, if you get stuck just pour some vinegar on the bristles and they will dissolve, easiest way to remove them. I think I heard somewhere that chocolate covered bristleworms are delicious.

The ON and OFF should be overrides for the timer. If you select ON the device plugged in will operate continously regardless of the time and your settings, same thing for OFF. AUTO is the selection you should use to have the timer work based on the time and settings. Not 100% sure about AUTO ON and AUTO OFF, are the time settings programed as ON at 12:00 am and OFF at 12:01 am? or are the settings for a time interval? like on at 12:00 am for X numbers of minutes? If its for a time interval, I would assume that the the AUTO ON and AUTO OFF just controls whether the device should be ON or OFF for the interval period.

I've bought from aquacave many times before, just recently I bought a Reef Octopus HOB skimmer for my sumpless 55 Gallon tank. I originally ordered a hob cone model, but after receiving it I quickly learned it wasnt going to fit on my tank with my sloped ceiling. Called up customer support and the return was very easy, only really bad part was having to pay for the original shipping, which they dont refund. It was about 15 bucks, and it cost me another 20 to send it back myself. Their customer support couldnt have been more helpful, told me everything I needed to do, and I asked if I could get a store credit instead of a a credit back on my credit card. I used the store credit after I returned the original skimmer to buy another skimmer from them. When I called up customer service to use my store credit I got the same operator that I had spoken to before, and he knew who I was by name after only telling him I had a store credit what I wished to use. I have found that Aquacave ususally always has the best online price for alot of the items that I buy with a price match guarantee, couple that with great customer service and you couldnt ask for more. I would perfer to buy local, but without any stores within about a 45-60 min drive I have found that Aquacave is a great company to buy from.

Ive drilled 3 20's, sides and bottom, never had a problem with any of them. Mine were bought from petco, which I believe are the Aqueon brand (AGA).

You might be a reefer if.... You plan your honeymoon in the tropics and spend more time in the ocean then your hotel room. Thought Chad might like this one

You might be a reefer if.... You raid your kids college fund for your next tank upgrade

I came across a thread on a different hobby site that I belong to that related it to the redneck jokes. I figured it would be pretty fun to start one here. Feel free to add your own. You might be a reefer if.... You mow your lawn and find an aiptasia covered rock you threw out there months ago.

Keep the ideas coming, I do like the moonlights/sleeping idea. Inverts? Really Mike? I guess I can make that happen. The more ideas the better, I just try to keep the topic kinda broad so that everyone can get involved, thats my goal here, to get as many members involved as possible. I already have an idea to get the most entries possible, I can put 50 selections in a poll, thats the target

The first baffle isnt needed, theres no harm to have bubbles in the fuge area. I would remove it, all it does it take space away from the fuge area. Are you planning to run an Auto Top Off? If so you are ok, but if not your return area is too small( its small being a 10 gallon tank anyways) . This is where you will see the water that evaporates from your system. And you will probably have lots of evap being a 20 gallon tank with a MH. I dont think you will like this sump design without an ATO. As far as the baffle material, you can use acrylic, but glass is better. The silicone used to attach the baffles doesnt bond well with acrylic. Using alot of silicone will hold it in place, whereas you can use a small amount to bond a glass baffle. Thicker acrylic is better because it wont bow as much as the thinner stuff as water passes around it. Glass is alot easier, and cheaper. Just find a local hardware store, they will cut it for you, and you will spend half of what you would on acrylic. I think some lowes and home depot can cut glass for you as well, not %100 sure of that though.

Problems with the infamous $10 frags
FearTheTerps replied to Mopar32985's topic in Vendor Experience
There a few inconsistances here. First off, you stated not to want to start a flame war, but you put the title as problems with the infamous $10 frags? Thats pretty much calling him out, saying his business is bad, simply stating you had a problem would have made it come off a little better to me. I knew from the very start of this thread this was were it was going to end up. Yea Sonny takes it personal, and he should, this is his livelyhood not a hobby for him . It how he feeds his family. Second, it seems you knew the reputation and the problems other people have had. That doesnt mean you dont have to shop there, I think its good that you decided to evalute them yourself, rather then just the words of others. But with that said, why didnt you do anything about the problems you had? Obviously if you knew about other peoples problems you should have had some clue on how to remedy the situation. Sonny has stated many times before he will try to make the situation right. So why not call him when you had the problems, thats part of what this community is all about, helping each other out. You stated you were in plumbing industry, if your customer had leaky pipes after you did a job wouldnt you expect them to call you back to fix whatever problems they had? or would you expect them to do nothing at all? You never even gave the store the chance to make the situation better, as a consumer thats the very least you could have done. I hope that anyone else that has any problems would at least make a phone call and explain their problems before they start to point the blame. Now, onto my thoughts of the store. I have bought some frags from Mr. Coral before, all have survived for a good period of time. I lost some before when I had my mini crash, but I still have some in my 55 today. I wish the store sold more colonies, it seems that the frags have taken over. But I understand that it can be much more profitable for them to sell numerous $10 frags then have a expensive colony sit and sit and sit until the right buyer comes along. -
Thank you everyone for another great month, will be a tough choice once again. See the submission thread HERE

^ +1 I think it would be good to have a schedule, just as roni said. This way even the hosts can join in on the tour. This ought to make it easier for people to carpool if needed, or it will also be good for those that dont want to go to house A,B, C etc.

what was the photo period when the new lights were added? did you make any change from when you had the T5's before? I dont know much about MH, have never owned any, but I do know some require a piece of glass sheilding for UV radiation. I know some of bulbs have the shieldiung built in, but others dont, if I recall correctly its the double ended bulbs that commonly dont have the shielding? Im sure someone else knows alot more about this then me, just throwing it out there as I havent heard it mentioned yet.

huh, I have never seen the wye any where, didnt even know it existed, I had to go check the BRS site for myself. I think a T would serve the same purpose though.
