I rarely clean the glass, there is very little salt creep. I clean the top of dust every once in a while.

I was wondering if anyone else runs glass covers on their reef aquarium? I do, I purchased custom cut Starphire glass covers for my reef aquarium. There are so many advantages from my observations: 1) Lower humidity in the house. I run my air conditioner less. I don't have to pull out as much water from the air to keep it comfortable, especially on days where the air conditioner does not run very often. I was able to raise my thermostat 1 degree and felt no rise of humidity inside the house. 2) I use less reverse osmosis water, due to less evaporation from the aquarium, saves me money on the water bill. 3) Much less salt corrosion on lights and other items exposed to salt water, my Radions collect much less dust. The only disadvantages I have observed: 1) Higher aquarium temperature, I see about a 1 degree increase, due to less evaporation. 2) Less light entering the aquarium due to reflection from the glass covers, I had to increase my Radions percentage higher. I am getting great growth, even with the covers, so I think it is an overall win.

So my Neptune was removing water and not adding water when doing automatic water changes. The result was my Tunze ATO was making up the difference in the sump. My salinity dropped to 1.018. I raised it to 1.024 What do you think will be the effects on the corals? Thanks

If you take a nylon bag full with shrimp or other meaty foods, and them put it in the tank at night, you should get a swarm of them attacking the bait bag.

What davjbeas posted is your exact model. They used be called Hagen Aqauclear 802. They usually will start to put current in the water after awhile.

I like vortechs because it's one less electrical cord in the water. I only have two electrical cords in my system, one for the skimmer pump, one for the sump circulation pump.

I have multiple Haddonis, LTAs, a Gigantea Carpet, a BTA and a H Magnifica in one aquarium. Pink Skunks go in Gigantea and Haddonis. Orange Skunks are in BTA and LTAs. Hybrid Percula/Ocellaris Pair and a single Ocellaris are in H Magnifica. I have some Ocellaris that won't go in an anemone. It seems to be hit or miss with Clowns.

Your water is too clean. Your alkalinity is too high for clean water. You have too many alkalinity swings.

No, I believe the county shut him down because of the conditions in the greenhouse. I think he passed away also. It was a crazy place to get marine critters, he had everything and nothing at the same time!!! He would get Garibaldis, which I believe are restricted, the place always had a whiff of shadiness to it.
