how do you control the salinity fluctuations due to a large surface area. i.e. -If you have a 1/2" water fluctuation in a 10 gallon footprint that maybe a one gallon of evaporation -but in a say 90 gallon footprint that would be 2.5 gallons evaporation. in a preformed pond that could be 10 or more gallons. I was thinking about using this as my sump for my 300 gallon display. http://www.thepondoutlet.com/home/tpo/page_6281_119/pre-formed_pond_by_laguna.html does anyone see an issue with using a tunze top-off with this. In my expierence the tunze light will change to red when it has pumped too much? will this result in too much salinity fluctuations?

some of them I have had for 4 years. the signs are bulging eyes. my kole tang turned solid white. I had just added some fish to the tank? any ideas?

as part of weekly maintenance, i had been doing 10% water changes?

My corals were looking the best i ever had, then i got dinos ...i reduced my metal halide photo period to 2 hrs, and quit weekly water changes,now my hard corals are suffering. the dinos are mostly gone, but I am afraid that they will come back , now that i have upped the photoperiod of my lights. My ph hovers around 8.0, I even have my skimmer drawing air from the outside ,and still cannot get my ph up. thanks in advance

I have some small fish that won't get any if i don't put a lot in the tank? They get out competed for the food. How do you guys feed , when you have fish in the tank that are not as quick,or deliberate feeders like copper band?

I don't see any way i can get him out? Even my small net(2 inches wide) is to big.

i was fastening it to a clip. My sail fin eats it. and the yellow tang is starting to show interest, but not the kole tang. never tried black worms. have to try them.

won't eat anything i have tried to put in the tank I have tried romaine soaked in garlic nori soaked in garlic live brine mysis rogers frozen food. spirulina frozen brine he looks healthy.I have had him almost a week, should i be worried? Any ideas?

Zeovit tanks run low alkalinity.

I would like to run my all at alkalinity at 7.0. So I would like it too fall some .gradually over time. But my salt alkalinity is 8.0.

when would you guys recommend me turn the calcium reactor on? My alk = 8.0 and calcium is 410. I only have 3 spa frags. each one about 1.5"

So I have been soaking dry rock and dry sand for over two months and changing the water every couple days until it read zero phosphates and zero nitrates. First time I have went to this much trouble, but on this tank I am taking my time. FINALLY : WATER IN TANK AND CYCLING. here is a picture of the aqua scaping my wife and i did for this tank. We got this cement from MarcoRocks. and we used 1" pvc pipe to hold the rocks together. The rocks can be removed from one another though, the cement was for balancing more than anything.
