  1. I bought a dive at the Baltimore Aquarium for my fiance as a Christmas present. It got a few good reviews but I havn't been able to find much on it. Has anyone done this or heard of people doing it? Any feedback is appreciated.
  2. I'm trying to catch a flame Angel who didn't touch corals for a year and now picks at everything! Don't risk it! It's much harder to enjoy your tank when your always worrying about your corals being destroyed.
  3. I saw the tanks at the taping of the show and have stopped by periodically since. There is about 10% of the fish remaining. Sad.
  4. This is my first time posting pictures so bare with me if it doesn't work..... I have an old Deltec Skimmer that I'd like to fix up and get running. The body is in good shape. I seem to have everything I need except for the pump assembly shown below (hopefully). I do have an Eheim pump that I plan to use. It looks to me that the only thing I need is the pvc parts to allow air into the output from the pump, and a few pvc pieces to actually connect the pump to the body of the skimmer. Am I right?
  5. Did you get any cool growth patterns?
  6. http://www.reefs.com/blog/2013/11/12/grafting-corals-art-coral-grafting/ Anyone ever done this? Looks awesome!
  7. +1 Culebra Island. We did a guys trip last year and camped out for a week, snorkeled all day every day and had a blast! A cab driver told me that harvesting lobsters off Flamenco Beach was perfectly legal!
  8. That's OK I want the Bubble Blaster
  9. Somebody was selling it on reef2reef. Not sure if it's still for sale.
  10. I wouldn't suggest using a 55 for a sump. I have one and it's way to tall, and creates a lot of problems in my stand. I would suggest finding a cheap, shallow sump. A wider footprint will also increase your options for choosing a skimmer.
  11. I appreciate the advice. Maybe I'll hold off for a while until a better skimmer comes along.
  12. I'm looking to upgrade my skimmer for my 180g and I can get a good deal on the Bubble Magus Curve 7. Anyone have experience with this skimmer? It's priced at $175 shipped. I have a pretty heavy bio-load, 55 gallon sump with 50lbs of live rock and a 30 gallon fuge with chaeto and more LR. I have a mixed reef with softies, LPS and SPS. The polyp extension on my acros is unreal, maybe 1/8 of an inch consistently....so I'm not trying to fix any real problem. The skimmer I have now is only rated for 100g but pulls out horrible stuff every day. I'm literally emptying my skimmer cup every day, and its always completely black with gunk. I'm happy with what its pulling out but I just know there's more in my tank that a bigger skimmer could get. I'm really trying to avoid spending money now, and then having to spend even more for a better skimmer down the road (if that's the case with the Curve 7) All thoughts are welcome!
