  1. Got there late so missed most of the folks, but still managed to make a good dent in John's stock as well as took home some great used stuff (thanks DaveS). Thanks!!
  2. If it's not too late I'd like to put in my request for a box of IO, please.
  3. Agree that Rainsfords need a mature sandbed, that tailspots and barnacle blennies are awesome, and trimmas/eviotas are great since you have a lid. I have a little yellow clown goby and a green banded goby in my 3g pico. Sexy shrimp, bumblebee shrimp and pom pom crabs are cool inverts. Geometric pygmy hawkfish and red headed gobies are also colorful and interesting.
  4. LOL. Mine is usually a combination of dust and dog hair, and has to be cleaned every month or so.
  5. That's always the culprit when one of mine otherwise seems to be working fine.
  6. I often see peacock mantis in the LFS, though you'd have to be prepared to set up a pretty big tank for one (I'm using the 45ish gallon Oceanic I picked up from DCReefer for the peacock I bought from Omair). Divers Den often has them, though I've read mixed reviews about how successfully they ship.
  7. I needed that - thanks! Imagine the size of that fish when it hatches.....
  8. Is there such a thing as too many tanks?

No. Unless of course, you can't properly maintain them all :)

  9. Mine has the same "magic touch", and he's a big boy (or, um, girl)! I have no idea where the favorite sleeping spot is. Many/most of my fish go nuts over seaweed (green, purple - it doesn't matter). What brand/kind are you feeding that your wrasse loves it so much?
  10. LOL! Wonder if you could get rights to a reality show.....
  11. I think that so many of us really enjoy fiddling with our tanks. I'm trying to step back from the 24 to just see what happens if I just leave it be. I had a little frag rack with a montipora and zoas in it and started to freak out when I realized theat they were encrusting the rack, then decided to just step back and see what results - I'll bet that ultimately it will be another cool layer/dimension to the tank. I may not have room for a beer bottle, but want the same result.
  12. Looking great! You'll love that dragon's breath, and it should be really happy right there. You can always go ahead and move your frogspawn up higher to get some interest/movement on your rockwork. I love the clove corals that grow on the rockwork in my 24 gallon - they're not all that tall but do add interest, color and some movement, and they spread when happy. Take a close look at where your frags are mounted onto the disks - often you can just pop them off where they've been glued. If they're happy they should grow out, though, and hide the disks.
  13. Or you can be like me - rather than choose, I just set up yet another tank! There is the pico with mushrooms, gobies and tiny shrimp. The 90 gallon with gorgonia, leathers and cool fish. The mantis tank with orange-spotted mantis, euphillia and mushrooms. The small reef that grows everything and is chock-full of interesting nano fish. The seahorse softie tank. The temperate/cold tank. And now I'm planning the next one..... I think that all of my tank personalities are happy (well, for the moment - I'd love a predator tank as well!) Paul, I always love your tank - it looks like something that would be great fun to explore!
  14. Welcome, and so glad to see that you attended today's meeting - what a great way to start! The bigger tanks are always really tempting (my first tank was my 90 g), but in case you can't tell from my signature I really love the flexibility you get from the smaller tanks. I can't wait to see how yours looks as it settles in and you stock it up!
  15. If you can hook the dragon's breath algae to your return (use a small zip tie) it will grow like nuts for you. Very cool looking.
  16. Very slick! Now I know who to turn to when I'm ready for a cabinet for my custom 10 gallon!
  17. Pacific East Aquaculture (Dr Mac) donated pink birdsnest, alien eye chalice, cyphastrea, and war coral. www.fishnreef.com donated a "piece of the reef" that contained a montipora and birdsnest.
  18. Guess what I won at today's raffle? One of the BRK gift certificates! Thank you so much!
  19. Thank you so much for all of the great raffle items! I managed to walk away with a really pretty birdsnest.
