  1. Been my experience that flake food works much better to watch flow. The fish love it too.
  2. http://angel-strike.com/aquarium/GroundingProbes.html
  3. Didn't even know you could interchange the probes and just change it like that. Makes total sense though, and easy enough. Thanks Chip!! As for you Billy Boy, it comes down to dollars and cents really. As you know what I am doing now works killer, but it gets pricey epically since I just added another 200 gallons of water to my system. That's an entirely different subject though.
  4. Little different subject, but still on the AC3. I have been told that you can actually control a calcium reactor and read both the PH in the tank, and PH of the reactor. Is this something you can do with the standard equipment, or do you need to add something to be able to do this, or was I given the wrong info? TIA
  5. Looks like your camera just won't pick up the beauty of that plate. The tank looks like it is at a sweet spot right there. Keep up the good husbandry!
  6. I just dosed 4 shots of vodka. Hopefully I can sleep now.
  7. Still don't get why these fish are listed as "Reef Safe" on most fish sites. Guess it's all about the mighty dollar. Sad really....
  8. New York City, thought about that after I posted and left for work. Keep umm coming, and thanks.
  9. I'm just a Caveman

  10. Heading up to New York this weekend for my anniversary and was wondering if anyone had visited any of the local shops there and could recommend any worth visiting? I'm more interested in LPS then anything else right now. TIA, Mark
  11. actually you can: http://www.petinsurance.com/
  12. LMAO, yeah right. You said that 15 changes ago.
  13. Not at all, but explains why you have trouble. Look guys, I know there are many ways to skin the cat, and there are many ways tanks can be very successful. It's all about having a stable environment which IMHO is the key to success. There's just no way anyone is going to convince me that you are going to get "better" results growing SPS MH - VS - LED's which is what this tread is implying.
  14. Work has been insane for me since Feb, but I do pay attention to whats going on. One things for sure. The marking of these LED's has got some people completely snow blind. I'll agree, they appear to make corals look good, and they save on the electric bill. The end! If i'm reading this right, the corals here in question are in a depth of 12 inches, and you now have better growth with LED's over 400 watt MH's right? Not to be rude here, but who in their right mind puts 400 watts of MH over top of a coral 12" below the surface and expects results? I'd do the grow out against an LED system any day of the week for the right wager. BTW, I'd be there Chip but I am going to be up in NY next week with the wife on vacation. Hoping to check out a store or two while I am there as well.
  15. I'm calling BS. There is no one in the world making these claims with SPS and LED's. PLEASE Show me.
  16. Boy you ain't kiddin. He must not be picky if he eats that crap.
  17. What does he eat typically? Very unique looking specimen.
  18. I have had these guys eating on perfectly healthy corals myself. I don't believe half the stuff that I read anymore.
  19. Sorry Justin, my response was more directed to Novi. I just added you name in there to explain what the MR1 was. I am however a proponent of "don't try and fix something that isn't broke". I see more people "trying" things with MB7 instead of using it the way it was designed to be used which works perfectly.
  20. Kind of funny to me to read all this almost two years later. Been running the Neozeo system now almost two years. This is where you run Zeolite media in an MR1 [ For Justin http://www.nextreef.com/reactors.html] or similar reactor at a rate of 100GPH, you dose MB7 and follow it up with Biofuel. In theory I suppose you can use the vodka with good results, but why not just use the products that are actually designed for reef tanks and not shot glasses?
  21. Everything is looking good but I am curious why you would have a need for a 30AMP circuit on a fish system? That raises an eyebrow for sure.
