anyone have any experience with solar panels to power a home. i am looking at this possibly depending on how much it is overall. opinions?

i was working on my tank tonite changing out the gfo in my reactor when the top off tube slipped out of my sump and on to the power strip near my sump. i didnt even know it had happened. so i am plugging up the pump when i notice that it isnt working. i thought the pump may have gone bad since i had it out of the water. i turn around and notice that my gfci has tripped. i thought it was a power spike because i didnt smell anything burning and at the time i hadnt noticed that the tube from my ato had slipped out. so i tried to reset it foolishly and was lucky that it wouldnt allow me to do so. when i realized what had happened i was very satisfied with my purchase. if you dont have them go get em. i put it off for so long before i finally moved but i am glad i did.

how long did you have him? was there evidence of a parasite of some sort?

the skimmer you listed in the fourth post would be underrated for your tank. you want something that can skim 150-200gal. for a system with 100gal.

what is your question? are you looking for skimmer recommendations? what do you have now?

its kind of like a sun coral. they wont die if you feed once or twice a day but they will grow faster and do better with multiple feedings. i had 5 in my tank before and i fed twice a day and they did well but when are started feeding more they got fatter and started to grow more.

i borrowed a fish trap to get out a naughty wrasse out of a 180. it takes patience but it works. i think it took 2 or 3 weeks.

i have been looking into keeping them on a long term basis as well via an aiptasia farm in my qt. i am just saving up the money now. when did you plan to get yours and how many are you getting? let me know what size you are getting.

iodine will be good for soft corals. alk ca and specific gravity are within range so keep them stable and you will be fine. instant ocean is fine especially if you arent doing many stony corals. though i would watch the alk because it tends to run high in instant ocean.

i went to pristine aquarium a few months ago and was not very impressed by the customer service or selection. as for atlantis, i have been there and i will say unless you are getting ora sps frags it aint worth the trip. their prices are high compared to what we enjoy here

yea i was goin to say how big is the carpet. your parameters would have to be pretty messed up to kill healthy triggers. were they healthy? are the clowns hosting in the anemone? that helps sometimes

how long have you been fighting it and how long have you had it?

if you have individual control just turn one or two lights off and see if he comes back out.

it will be easier to maintain you nutrients with no fish. way less detritus with no fish. if you can stand having no fish it is a good idea.

i have had great luck with the pellet form of the gfo that bulkreef sells and it is iron based in case you have leathers present

i was reading online that i should cut off the lights for a few days but since this eel is used to tank conditions because i got it from a local member should i acclimate in this way?
