Here is the Solar Flare that I got for my 8 gal from Quantum Reefs for about $80. Love it so far and should be bright enough.

As I said, I put down a small rock in the sand and put the clam on it. Being so small,maybe an inch. How wide should it open? It opens enough that I can see it bright yet small mantle.

I have 24 gal cube. As far as light I have a coralife with actinics and 150w halide. I have about 3 inches of substrate. I think it should have enough light at substrate level. I may put a small flat rock in the sand and put it there.

I just got a very small maxima clam, about 1 inch. It does not want to stay on the rock. Should I just let it be on the substrate? It seems happy there. Thanx

Cleaning my tank I noticed about 6 or so small, what I think are Ball Anemone. They are very neat.. ? is, are the bad? I have not added anything to my tank in over 1 1/2 years. Nothing but water... They are all under rock in caved areas.. Any thoughts.

My coralife aquapro actinics have not been working. I bought new ones about 7 months ago and they still do not work.No time of money to buy new lighting. I have been running the blue leds during the day and the metal halide comes on at 4pm and off at 7:30ish. All was well but recently my hammer has been closing up more and more each day. DO they NEED actinic lighting? or is the halide too much?. All was great until my actinics went out. All water perams ar spot on. Any suggestions? Thanx

THIS SEEMS TO BE THE SIZE OF A LARGE GRAIN OF RICE. I THINK IT MAY BE A WOUND FROM THE DAMSEL. I MAY LOWER MY SALINITY A BIT JUST IN CASE.

I have never had ick in my tank. It has been an est. tank for 2 years. Nothing has been added to the tank in 9 months. My clown this AM has a fuzzy white spot on its side. He does get "into it" with one of my 3 stripe Damsels. Think it might be a bite? or ick? No pics I'm at work.

Thanks for the help!!!! The fans do work better if you have them plugged into the ballast correctly.
