YHSublime October 5, 2013 Author October 5, 2013 But the question is...does it fit in the sump?lol It's tight, but it works. *phew.* I'm breaking it in outside the sump in about an hour, just waiting for my last bit of glue to dry. ooohhh. ahhhh....what pump are you going to use with it? I honestly feel like this CS3 is going to be a dream skimmer for not only this size tank, but my sump. It doesn't sit much higher, if any higher, than the regular Pegleg CS1, and the assembly was super easy (sans getting some extra parts and a wrong sized bottom flange) but the excellent customer service of Dan and Justin, and the overall ease of assembly makes me want to rate 4.5 out of 5, and I have yet to run it. There are not a lot of reviews on this skimmer yet, and I think it's probably because it's essentially an over sized CS1. The 10" collection cup, and the size of the plumbing all illustrate the CS1 on roids. I made my choice based on 1.) Having two CS1's, 2) Robs testimony, as well as this old thread from Rob, before I even asked him his opinion. The bottom is powered with 2 psk-1000's, and then I built for recirculation with an MJ-12000, but I guess if I want to make it non recirc, I just plug the hole? May do that while I break it in. Algae always builds up pretty quick when I take the skimmer off, makes me wonder what's happening in the tank...

YHSublime October 5, 2013 Author October 5, 2013 Over skim much? Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk 4 That's one of those things I don't believe in. I say H-E-double hockey sticks yeah to feeding more and cleaning less.

YHSublime October 7, 2013 Author October 7, 2013 gorgeous!!!! how in the world is that an entire tube of epoxy? lmao The question on everybody's mind, haha. Tales of a full epoxy stick to come. I've been honing in my photography skills, and I've learned how to take the blue out!

AlanM October 7, 2013 October 7, 2013 It really looks great. I love that monticap scrolling layering part. I assume you broke it into pieces and layered it all up there? Or did it grow that way?
YHSublime October 7, 2013 Author October 7, 2013 Looks incredible, braj. Great pictures Thanks! This is just the beginning. I switched over some of my hardier corals to make sure everything was good. You know when you check your water quality and it's perfect, but you're still nervous? There is still all my SPS and zoas and a few other things to move over. I've yet to play with my Look Down from Avast, but I've been practicing with the camera for a full unveiling. i dont know if you noticed jenn, but HE HAS FISH! forget the epoxy, congrats isaac on getting some life in there. man, i'm über jelly. Haha, don't be too jealous, my ambitious fish list put a huge dent in the budget, but I'm more or less complete: 2 regular clown percs 4 green chromis 1 Hippo Tang 1 Yellow Tang 1 Hoeven's Wrass 1 Chevron Tang1 Achillies Tang 1 Jap swallowtail butterfly In between one hungry Koran who found an appetite for lps. Although said to be a difficult fish, the Achilles has been really good with me. Eats like a pig, and loves it's greens. Picks at the rocks, and eats just about everything that goes in. It is, however, incredibly aggressive to other fish, and by other fish, I mean any fish that goes in after it. I have it QT'ing again in a 50 gallon, but it's definitely not happy there, and paces most of the day. I wanted it to be the last fish that I added, and hopefully that will help fix the territorial issue. It also is not shy around my hands, and will even eat from my fingers. I have yet to add my yellow tang, and then I will probably do one of these 3: Sailfin Tang Blond Naso Tang Foxface I did have a bunch of wrasse on my list, but I want to find an alternative. I want to find a group of fish that shoal/school like the Chromis, but colorful. The baby hippo has convinced himself that he's a chromis, and schools with them. I guess it'll take it becoming a giant, and it still probably won't be the wiser. yea hes been hiding that for a few weeks I think so I couldn't laugh at him....I also heard that his 57 was packed to the brim LOL............ But he is doing a fantastic job so I can't jibe him too much....although Brad must be gone by now...LOL...maybe he will be allowed a few more rocks..... I have been undercover fishlisting. It really is amazing how well things come together if you decide what you want before you do it, and plan it out! Brad actually suggested more rock, but I was pretty hellbent on minimalist, which I think will be awesome when it all grows in, hopefully my vision is starting to show through what's in place already. Once I told him I wanted minimalist look, he pretty much said "there it is." Haha. The sump is stuffed with live rock, but I think the 3 fish going into the 150 are going to be dictated by the space that everybody else has established. I'm thinking about building another flat structure for the middle that arches up from left to right. This will form a horizontal to the monti cap. I can cycle it in the 57 when I move everything over and then do a little organizing down the way. I will figure it out once it's all put together, and decide how to do it. Either way, I don't think it'll hurt to start making some more live rock pieces to shove over. Once I'm done, I'll be able to essentially medium stock a 150 with what I had in a 57... so that speaks to the drastic change I plan on making in aesthetics, if it's successful or not, we will see! congrats!!! looks great man.. I gotta come check this out in person! lol If you're ever in the area, let me know, but you should wait until it's completely setup, then it will hopefully be worth the trip. It really looks great. I love that monticap scrolling layering part. I assume you broke it into pieces and layered it all up there? Or did it grow that way? Thanks! The monticap actually came from Jans tank when she broke her tank down down. She had grown it out on this nice big rock, and didn't want to break it off. It really was a centerpiece piece, and I guess a lot of people didn't have room in their tanks. I completely remodeled one side of my 57 to squeeze it in, and it's probably grown about 2" out since then. The tiers it creates offer sleeping space to the chromis, and my hippo, who I thought I lost for the first couple of weeks. He transferred into the 150 while still inside, haha. It actually is using the force, and balances on a peg, and leans against the overflow and the back wall with two pieces that butt inbetween the spot like an arrow. Underneath forms a cave that my chevron and swallowtail have made their sleeping spot, and all fish swim around it during the daylight hours. It also homes my green LTA, and my 2 skunk cleaner shrimp, that I have witnessed serve most fish in the tank while hanging upside down underneath it!
YHSublime October 7, 2013 Author October 7, 2013 Had some time tonight to break out the top down. I need a bit more of a zoom on my lense, one is too much, the other is too little. Scolly having a bite: Red monti: Personal Fav: Curious clowns. I wish this one had focused a bit better, the shot would have been perfect. They were so curious as to what was happening: Another personal fav: Whoops, lights switched back:
YHSublime October 8, 2013 Author October 8, 2013 You're running IT series lights, correct? Yes sir, these are the IT2080's, or as Reefbreeders calls them, the Photon 32's (I believe) Oh my great googely moogely.....freakin. Awesome!!! Thanks! Just wait, Lots of glue later I plan on having pictures up before the weekend!

YHSublime October 8, 2013 Author October 8, 2013 Lol..and my sand still hasn't cleared :( Glad your getting it all moved and pretty...it's looking so awesome...your negative space is really nice! It'll get there! Thanks again, I'm glad the negative space is observed. I wanted something that would allow proper attention to both corals and fish. There will be something to see everywhere!
YHSublime October 9, 2013 Author October 9, 2013 Looking GOOD!!!!! I know where to PU some frags. LOL Thanks! Not yet, but hopefully soon. I plan on being very hands off with this tank, will see how it works.
YHSublime October 9, 2013 Author October 9, 2013 You will need to change the title of this thread. Haha, who's to say there isn't another tank coming in?! Just kidding. I don't think I could handle that.
