That's cool that UNS has created a Reef System line as these tanks so so good looking! I do think that going w/ the all black background and the integrated overflow goes against why UNS is so great. I much prefer the external overflow via drilling route. Great tanks!

Sorry to hear! Something similar happened to me a few years ago. Although one can't know for sure but I attributed the issue from a hitchhiker disease on a snail from a LFS that doesn't separate fish from inverts. Because of that, I generally don't buy inverts unless I know they are from a fishless system.

One option is to dose/add live phyto to your tank. I have found that it's been one of the keys, if not the key, to keeping the algae at bay for me. The phyto benefits the tank and you can't really overdose it. It's a safe first try. But you'll also need to work on raising the NO3. I started to turn off the skimmer and skip water changes as one method because I didn't want the hassle of dosing it.

I visited capital aquariums earlier today and check it out! They did indeed have what they listed. I didn't leave with anything though. They have fish in the same system so I'm always worried about inverts transferring diseases. Though I may be overthinking it. I'll try to take a drive to aqua haus too.

Looks great! Like you already mentioned, I'd be concerned about the conditions an unconditioned garage will entail. Don't forget that the room you are cutting a hole through is going to loose the thermal barrier it used to have so the temps may feel different in that room. Since you are spending all of this money, how about insulating the garage walls (if not already) and getting an insulated garage door? This will help. Looking forward to following the progress!

No, I wouldn't bet on the gorilla glue. The brace is there for structural reason (bow out) and glue is not an alternative to the brace if it wasn't broken. I personally can't tell what those pictures are showing but I would start thinking about longer term strategies. You can use bar clamps and plywood to temporarily brace it until you come up with a plan. Lower water level also to alleviate the center pressure against the glass. Good luck.
