  1. Ok I get what your saying now I was thinking it would be place after the membrane. I'm going to have to try that I have an extra filter canister at home. Also another good thing to do is put a 5 micron filter before your booster pump to make sure nothing gets in and damages the pump.
  2. Origami One problem with #3 is if you use a Ca+ filter of some kind you will just be stripping it back out and loading your DI resin with Ca+ instead of CO2.
  3. I'm on a well where I live and I have had my reef for six years without issues from the well water anyways. Things I would whatch out for: 1 A booster pump will be a must most well pressure tanks are only set to about 40 psi and to get the best efficiency out of your membrane you will want to run it at 80 psi. 2 if your well has a softener on it, most do the salt that you use for it is extremely high in phosphates. So never use the the tap water to top off or make a fresh batch of change water. Algae will invade! 3 Your well may be high in CO2 which will eat through you DI resin like mad. You find this out quickly if you have color change resin. To get around this have your RO water drain into a holding tank/barrel and aerate with a pump and air stone then have another pump pump it through the DI resin. All and all its not that bad with a RO/DI system. I do collect the waste water in a large barrel outside my house which I use to water my garden with.
  4. Ah Yes the nightmares of moving companies. I'll share my store as well, some of you know I just bought Mike Marsh's 225 gallon tank stand and canopy. Well I arranged for a moving company out of Annapolis to move it from Fairfax to my house in Annapolis. Long and short of the story is they showed up 6 1/2 hours late, then said that he couldn't move it with the four guys that he brought, but for $1200 him and his guys would do it. Which was a lot more than the agreed price. I told him no chance, so he said that he would be back at 7am the next morning with more guys. So I drove back out to Fairfax and at 9:00 I call their office and gusse who answered the phone. Yup the same guy that gave me his word he would be there, so I excused myself to the deck and chew him up one side and down the other. I can't tell you how nice the Marsh family was about the whole event. I was still in need of a tank move, so Jeff Hadock to the rescue, him and his crew of three guys showed up the next weekend on time, move the aquarium, stand and canopy out of Mike's house in under an hour. Drove them to my house unloaded and moved everything into my house without an issue or damage to tank or house. Jeff did it on time and for the agreed price. Can't thank Jeff enough for his professionalism and efforts to meet my schedule. So next time you guys need a tank move call Jeff (NAGA).
  5. I'm thinking of adding one too any brand of fan work better?
  6. Monkiboy I have an idea for you, if you are going to build a new stand and all. Why don't you lay it over on its front and make it 85" L x 32" W x 24" tall unless there is a structural difference in the way the tank was built, that prevents orienting it that way. You would only have to buy a pice of low iron glass that's 85" L x 24" W.
  7. Why did you mount them so close to the water? Why not 6"-8" and lose the shot light effect? Are the PAR reading you posted from this tank? Sorry for so many question trying to figure out what to order. Thanks.
  8. Hi all Have a couple of question on how many d120s I would need to get good coverage over my display and frag tank. My display is a 150 60x24x24, I am currently running 3 250 watt de 14k phonix bulbs and two 60" overdriven t-5s so 100 watts each plus two 12" blue stunner strips leds. Total about 950 watts, I would really like to reduce that if I can. I like the look of 14k, 20ks Always looked to blue to me. My tank is mostly sps a few Lps, so I was thinking 3 units end to end or 4 units running perpendicular to the length of the tank? What would you guys that have them suggest? My frag tank is a 36x36x11 lite buy one 250 watt SE 14k phonix bulb. I was thinking 2 units above the tank? Also I see that people are including red and green LEDs, is this just for color balance or to make those colors pop? Red and green light are part of the white light spectrum so why are you trying to I crease the spectrum color in this range? I seen a lot of tanks with just blues and whites grow extremely well with out them? Thanks for your input.
  9. When do you guys think you will start taking orders for the next group buy? I was intrested in the last one but was too late to add an order.
  10. Nice how does his prices compair to the other builders? I'm think about a 60"x40"x20" as my next up grade.
  11. Hi all My skimmer is doing something it's never done, the skimate is very weak looking but the inside of the neck and the lid looks like this. This is about 4 days? I am running bio plettes could they cause the increased solids? Thanks.

  14. Bowiereefer Once you figure out the secret let me know I've been trying to get mine to do the wave for months. I have the pluse mode running now but it's nothing like what a wave would be. Thanks.
  15. Hi all Will it harm a dual mh ballast to only run a singal mh light off it? Thanks
  16. Hey Rik Glad to see your picking back up the addiction, I mean hobby. You always had some of the nicest corals, I don't have any of the ones listed above accept the red table, which is too small to frag, but let me know if you need any eq. I have tons of nano stuff laying around, I just took two nano systems down. How big is you new tank going to be?
  17. Congratulation Darren and to your wife. Coolest thing I've ever done was to be at the birth of both of my two. Great picture.

  19. Where are you at in Annapolis? Nice start on your system looking forward to seeing it grow.
