I tend to test alk, ca, and mag weekly now that I have good test kits. pH temp and salinaty pretty much daily. The rest when I think there might be aproblem. I would like to see that iPhone app, I have been looking for one but haven't found one that I like. Thanks.

Had to post since I was at both House and Sea Save today.... Like Chad said House is deceiving, every fish I have ever bought from there has lived. No lie, can't say the same about the other stores motioned. In fact every fish in my tank except my Saddle Backs are from there. Only one of the corals in my tank is there thou. They have been around for like 60 years and I have been going there since I was a teenager. Sea Save well I have never had a problem with John or Bambi yes their ideas are out there. Chucelli not even close to the par value of 175 mh @ 5" under water about 80 par. They are 1 watt LED x28, they are VERY yellow 67k, so they really need atinics.

I did mine similar to the picture; I added some bits of a mouse pad under the feet and under the corners of the wood board to help with the vibration.

I have the mogul base ones running on my tank right now; I've been less than pleased with them. I have them now just to give me the sparkle effect of MH; I am relying on T5s for most of my lighting needs. LEDs are not there yet for our needs maybe in a few years. So is anyone running one? If so please share on what and your impression of it's capabilities. Also what pump/s are you using? I'm thinking of getting a new skimmer for my tank and this one peaked my interest. Thanks.

Hi Zoozilla Yep it sticks on ice about the LEDs and Tullio will not be getting OUT for a Very, Very long time. So that moneys gone, live and learn. I like LED lighting as an option for aquariums alot and have been looking at the DIY forums to see if I can improve these but I haven't had alot of time to really research what I could do. I have to say I am impressed with the T5s so far I'm adding two more hopefully this weekend. I need more blue to get the colors to pop.

The LEDs I bought from a guy named Tulio, they are very similar to the ones Boret that you found but not quite. I saw those at MACNA in Atlanta, they do produce what they state on there web site. The ones that I bought were to have the same output as a 175 watt MH, After I finally got them (almost 6months) the PAR readings were dismal and the spread was about 1

I'm currently using the Kalk that came with my Aquamedic Stirer but I have the Kalk from bulk reef supply to use next, anyone use this kind before? Has anyone seen the Kalk turn like a honey brown color? Should I replace it? I've never seen it turn color before. Thanks.

Hi all time for an update: Well I have some cheto growing in the fuge (Thanks Tony) the fuge has been run 24/7 for about 7 days now, and diatom algae is growing like mad on the sand bed. The display finally has lights! I

suck some out every time you do a water change, it will take some time but it will also give your system time to adjust to the loss of bio surface.

Thanks zoozilla, oh yeah I have the reflectors just didn't have time last night to pop them on. I wanted to fire up the T5s and see how they looked. I can't wait to get them installed, the tank just doesn't look complete. I'm hoping to find time this weekend to get everything hooked up.

lanman, I just got 4 X 80 watters last night and Reefgeek did an excellent job of packing them. I was afraid that they would be a box of glass shards when I got them but no issues what so ever. I did UPS ground, I didn't see the free shipping discount on their site.

I'd go with 15,000K Iwasaki, they have the highest PAR for a 175 and are pretty blue. But If you only want 20k either Reeflux or Ushio are nice.

Thanks Larry and Rik Here is a small update: Lights are wired up and ready to install over the tank and I got the fuge hooked up. So here's some pics. and let there be light and was it good Fiji purple T5 Blue Plus atinic plus I went with two blue plus and Fiji in the pictures.
