  1. Hi all I'm looking to purchase two new pumps for my tank, 225(6'x30"x24") it's going to be mostly SPS corals. I want as little hardware in the tank as I can get away with. Which model pump would you go with? I'm leaning towards the wp-60s. Anyone have any good/bad experience with these pumps? Thanks.
  2. Mine are black but still the older blocky style. Been running great ever since I got them.
  3. Does anyone know if the d120's hanging knobs that come with them can be removed so you can use one of the other style hanging kits? CoralAquaCulture where did you get the rails for hanging your lights? I'm trying to hang 5 d120's over a 6ft tank. Thanks.
  4. Thanks Sublime for your input but I'm trying not to put any more money into this build if I can help it, maybe later on. The tank is a 225 gallon with a 125 gallon sump. So you think the bubble blaster can handle the head pressure?
  5. Hi All, I am looking to get your opinion on what you think I should do to my skimmer as far as moding it to be recirculating. The skimmer is ASM G-6 the chamber is 36” tall then the cone and collection cup makes it approximately 48” tall. http://www.aquacave.com/ASM-G-6-Prot...mer-P1248.aspx Pumps: 3 PSK 2500 http://www.marinedepot.com/Sicce_PSK...FIWPSB-vi.html 1 Bubble Blaster HY-3000S http://premiumaquatics.com/aquatic-s...-HY-3000S.html I have it set up now with two PSK 2500 and the Bubble Blaster HY-3000S not recirculating and it does a great job but I think I can squeeze a little more oomph out of it. Option 1: Three PSK 2500 moded to recirculate and fed by my return pump. Option 2: Two PSK 2500 recirculating and using the bubble baster to feed it. Option 3: Three PSK 2500 moded to recirculate and fed by the bubble baster. I’m a little worried that the bubble blaster will not be able to handle the head pressure of the 36” water column of the skimmer. Option 4: All out- all four pumps recirculating and feeding the skimmer off my return pump. So what do you guy’s think would be the best option for a roughly 300 gallon SPS system. Thanks.
  6. Thanks guys thanks for the replies. I was going to put 6 of them on it, two rows of three, I gusse that would be overkill. I think I'll start with 4 D120s 6" off the water. Small reef, I'm the one you bought your tank from, It's looking really good I have been fallowing your build thread.
  7. I get some tank vibration now, what's the best way to get rid of them?
  8. I'm working on setting up my evergrow D120 lights this weekend (hopefully) quick question for you guys that are running them. Alittle details tank is a 225 gallon 72"x30"x24" the tank is going to be mostly SPS with some LPS. 1 how high are your lights off the water? 2 how bright do you have your lights set? 3 how many lights would you use to light the 72"x30" tank? Thanks.
  9. I'm working on setting up a 225 on the main level (basement under) of my home I have it spanding 4 floor joist perpendicular on the main beam of the house. I also added a 4"x6"x8' beam held up by two new loly columns. The tank is about half full so far I'll tell you how it all works out after this weekend.
  10. You need to go to the California academy of science! Awesome place great for the kids too.
  11. Macro algae tank focused on marine plants with pipefish or seahorse and maybe a goby shrimp pairing.
  12. I got my last batch from bulk reef supply pretty reasonable.
  13. Thanks for the piture, what PVC piece did you get to connect the prob holder to the ball value?
  14. Has anyone done the pH probe mod? If so please post some pictures been wanting to do that mod for a while. Thanks.
  15. Can you use these with the d120s? Is there away to mod the d120s to make them controlable?
  16. I so wanted to go but I will not be able to attend. Bummed
  17. Thanks for the replies, the tank is 72"x30"x24" glass. I did not intend to shim the tank it's self but when measuring the level should you measure the stand or on top of the tank? The tank is euro braced so I don't know if the the glass on top is off. I'll look for the plastic shims does homedepot have them? The stand is metal not wood if that makes a difference.
  18. Now I've got the tank on the stand its not dead on level. So when leveling a tank do you focus on the stand or the tank? I've shimmed the stand with wooden shims about 1/4" on one end? Too much? It's still not totally level add more? Thanks.
  19. Thanks Nate I'm not too far from you only over the bridge in Cape St Claire.
  20. Hi All If there are any members in the Annapolis Maryland area willing to give me a hand it would be greatly appreciated. It is really just picking up the tank off the floor and setting it on the stand, it's the 225 gallon I bought a few months ago, its way too big for me and my wife to move. I have two friends on CMAS willing to help me out this Saturday at 10 but we are going to need one or two more people to move it safely. Please post or PM me if your willing to give me a hand. Thanks.
