  1. Thanks guys, I'm still trying to get the lights all hooked up. Right now my IceCap 660 is giving me heartburn.
  2. Ok time to bring the build thread up to date. Here are some better pictures of the water change system. This shows the tree way value used to redirect the return water to the 55 gallon barrel instead of the sump. While that
  3. Hey Rob, Your tank gets more beautiful every time I see it, and fast too I can't believe the growth rates you are getting. I have one question, where did you get the acrylic that you used for your sump and frag tank? How hard were they to build? I
  4. Second Reef Chief, He has driven up for the Southern Maryland Clubs big event the last two years with some really nice stuff. I got a orange mouth plate coral frag from him two years ago and its grown into a beautiful coral. I got some really nice frags from him this year as well. .
  5. GSM, Your tank is awesome; I have also seen your thread on RC, welcome to the area. Can you post more pictures of those zoa's they are beautiful!
  6. One word Foxface- I got a very small one for my 18 gallon and he/she has cleaned almost every bit of macro alage out of my tank. The alage was so bad it was chocking out my GSP.
  7. Yep thats the one, as I recall now it was a long drive to get to it. I tagged along on my wifes buiness trip, so I had to find something to do while she worked.
  8. I went there about two years ago when I was out there, nice little aquarium. Did you go to the Aquarium of the Pacific its near San Diego? That one was really nice.
  9. Sikryd, I'm planning on going; I'm in Cape Saint Clair, just down RT 2 from you. I was planning on driving to New Carrolton and ridding the metro in. The metro stops just about a block from the DC Aquarium it
  10. Nice, Thanks for the update. whats the substrate?
  11. Txaggies, I'm going to be near Sugar Land, Stafford area, Fallstone Rd is where my meeting is so I'm staying at a hotel off of beltway 8. If that gives you an idea of where I'll be. DonP- I'll let you know what I find. Thanks kngfisher for the links.
  12. Ok so I can't type (or spell for that matter) Thanks for pointing it out. DonP that's right down the road from where I'm staying and where my meeting is so I have that one on my list. Thanks.
  13. Thanks Doug, I all ready did, theres two place I've already found that I'm stopping at, just looking for more.
  14. dshnarw, Awesome pictures of zoos and other corals, how about a full tank shot update picture?
  15. Chris, Here's my NAGA special:
  16. Thanks Chris, I tried one but he didn't touch the stuff, he did cleane up the hair type algae, then went carpet surfing. :(
  17. One problem, phosphates and silica is not removed completely by just DI alone. If you have high levels of one or the other the DI alone will not cut it. RO removes it more efficiently. This is what I was told when I ask the question a few months ago on RC chemistry forum.
  18. A good coat of Kilz and two coats of paint and you should be good. Are you brushing or spraying the paint on? Oh yeah and a top coat of poly to keep the salt creep from getting under the paint, trust me the sealing the stand and canopy will make it last alot longer.
  19. Yeah .... What Jeff said. I have a 150 acrylic tank that I'm in the process of reconditioning, I was afraid at first that I'd mess it up by sanding it, but let me tell ya it's really easy to get the scratched out and I had so really bad ones!
  20. Bob, Same here, I do spot feed them with cyto-feez (SP?). I was told the the blastos will not do well in systems that have high NO3, which mine does. :( my acans seem to be holding in there and enjoy feedings but there are the same number of heads as when I got them almost a year ago. hopefully someone eles can help us both out. Thanks.
