  3. Hello, My typhoon III has been running for 6 months now. When my resiover was filled the float valve closed the auto shut off valve to close the water supply and the pressure meter went down to zero Now when the resiover is filled the pressure valve stays where it normally is when filling the resoiver. Does this mean water is still going throught the unit and down the drain? David B.
  4. Thanks for the fish and snails and live rock. If anyone needs live rock he has some great pieces. Looks to be Fiji, has lots of crevices and holes. David B.

  10. No, I know of no way to control the growth toward an end shape. It basically is the same shape when it was bought from the marine scene. It has just grown bigger. It's a very neat coral to have. Also the sweeper tentacles are so small there is no warfare between the brain coral and any others. The last time I picked it up to move it I found 4 bristleworms had made a home under the brain. No harm is done from the bristle worms. It would have been neat if one of the fishes swooped in and ate a worm. David
  11. Yes, I still have the brain coral. It is in a smaller 30 gallon tank with some other LPS and shrooms. Here's a big bubble coral from the 30 gallon Heres the brain coral I think you are talking about. Also my avatar is the brain coral with the colors reversed. Thanks, David

  14. I have a brand new precision marine calcium reactor modell 422 I think. With a new CO2 tank 5 lbs, and the regulator from aquarium plants.com all new. Will sell for $570.00 David B. I went in the 2 part dosing route.
  15. I checked lifereefs website. www.lifereef.com you should have a mazzei venturi where the airline goes to the pipe where the water is coming in the skimmer(not the pipe with the valve knob). try blowing air in the air tube going into the pipe intake. to see if it is clogged. You will need a strong feed pump. as water goes in the skimmer from the pump air is pulled into the mazzei injector creating many bubbles in the skimmer. I would recomment at least a RIO2100-2500 for that skimmer. Or a mag drive 7-9 David
  16. From the picture i think you need a feed pump with a needle wheel impeller for that to work. Or a feed pump with a air venturi. The pipe with the valve is where the water should exit the skimmer. The valve controls the water height in the skimmer. David
  17. There have been quite a few changes in the aquascaping. I have built a rock tower in front of the overflow. I chose rocks with lots of nooks and cranies for mounting small sps frags. I got some great frags from a wamas member and bought some at the aquarium company. and mounted frags from the past frag fest. I have a lot of pictures for you! not really sure what this one is. Happy Reefing, David
  18. Blow it off the rocks with turkey baster. Do run phos ban and refugium. Cut back run time on the lights. What are you feeding the fish or corals with? What brand salt mix do you use. how old is the tank? Live rock has many pores, crevices. you can take a powerhead and blow out everything in the crevices. This could enable the skimmer to remove the waste in the live rock. David
  19. Before I use the carbon in the filter. I soak it RODI water for a while. You can do this with your carbon and test the water you soak it in for phosphates. SInce starting the prodibio system I have taken my phosphate reactor off line. I still run a 10 gallon refugium though. David
  20. I run it in a magnum 350 canister filter. I use kent Reef carbon. I change it every 2-4 weeks depending on how dirty the blue filter sleeve looks. It does clear the water, but I feel it safe guards the water quality when corals release slime or chemical warfare takes place. It works for me. David
  21. They look like mutant clownfish to me. Did ORA aquire any nuclear waste recently? David
