cyano isnt hard to get off of the sand or corals, you should be able to just pull it off pretty easily...
How do you have your power heads setup? I was having a cyano problem and it ended up being a flow issue... moved my PHs around and it was gone (after I manually removed as much as I could)
55 would be best, but a 20 long would be ok (that's what I used - mimic tang, two clowns, 2 chromis, firefish)... the more water changes the better. a little hang on the back filter/skimmer will help....
