  1. You’re getting out of the hobby? Say it ain’t so..... Darren
  2. 8 or 6 bulb ATI T 5 with reefbrite blue led strips along the sides. It has produced killer results in my tank. Darren
  3. How’s the tank? All the frags I got from you are doing great Darren Darren
  4. It is a princess peach colony.....it appears to have morphed a little bit in my tank. I got this coral from llemonz Darren
  5. A little blurrier pic, but gives you a better feel of the growth pattern: https://imgur.com/gallery/2hxekqV
  6. Reef2reef and wamas for me. R2R exposes you to all types of new corals ....it is commercial, but it is free, so they have to make money somehow. Reef central got crazy rude / mean about ten years ago, I haven’t been back since Darren
  7. I had an out of control encrusting montipora that I slowly covered with reef epoxy. It took a month or so as I did it in pieces. Lesson learned on my part-no encrusting monti’s on rocks that connect to your reef structure Darren
  8. I would stop dosing and monitor your elements daily to find some stability, then after a week or so start adding and continue to monitor. Darren
  9. Congrats, your philosophy on improving nutrition for fish to improve their longevity really inspired me to put more effort into feeding my fish more frequently and with natural ingredients. It has really helped to decrease mortality for me. Thanks for all of your rants ! Darren
  10. I have had every type of power head over the last 20 years of reefing in a variety of sized tanks and all have different nuances that make them useful, but overall I think Tunze wave makers have the best longevity, cost value and performance. That said , all can work for you...... Darren
  11. Amazing corals and pics, what camera / lens are you using? impressive, Darren
  12. I’ve seen them on eBay, but didn’t know you could stop by and take a look.....does anybody know their store hours / location? thanks Darren
  13. I have been using it for over a year now and I am quite pleased overall. It mixes fast with little residue ( I mix a months worth of water changes at one time, then change 10% each week). It also has parameters that match pretty close to my target parameters (the only addition I do is raise the alk from 7.0 to 8.5 dkh). It also has the best batch to batch consistency , which is critical for me now that I have down sized to a 40ish gallon tank from my 150. Worth every additional penny for my application. Darren
  14. I have tried most of all the salts out there and I prefer tropic marin pro the best. It is a little pricier but the quality is top notch. BRS did a study of several different salt brands for a variety of parameters .....I recommend taking a look at the video and go from there. Darren
  15. Impressive work and dedication! Darren
  16. Hello, Anybody aware of a place or person who can provide a custom cut piece of acrylic? I am looking for two pieces of black acrylic to cover my fuge....... Thanks, Darren
  17. There is a guy from reef2reef that sells regularly. I have purchased from him a few times and am always pleased with the quality and quantity of pods. Pm me if you want his username Darren
  18. I cut my old one with scissors and then superglue it to a frag plug. Darren
  19. I would say it is unlikely. I have had that fish years back with several varieties of shrimp and I never had a problem, of course, all fish are different. Darren
  20. Nice pickup......one of my favorite shrimps..... Darren
