  1. Thanks all for the idea with the silicone. I was able to find two leaks coming from under the overflow box. Since the 3 bulkheads were emptying into the overflow box, I have to conclude the the leak was coming for the overflow box. I was able to get some silicone and reseal the entire box (all 5 feet of it). It was not the prettiest of job as i only have 6" behind the tank to work with. I had to literally work over the tank on a step ladder to get access to the overflow. Eric Jon Eric Paul
  2. Temp was at 75 just put an heater in the DT thanks you so much. not a problem on the tank visit

Hopefully this solve the problem. will let you know tomorrow. Eric Jon Eric Paul will be happy to give you a frag of the green acro if you are interested. I was starting to entertain the idea of having to break the whole system down to fix it. Wow!! So far no more water on the stand, so the problem was likely the overflow box Thank you all very much for the suggestion.
  4. I like the idea of the silicone in the overflow box, if that is where it is from. I will have to clean and dry it out tomorrow. Even this will be a challenge as i only have about 8" behind the tank to work with. The good thing is, it is a slow leak so i have some time and i feel confident it is not the tank it self. I was most worried about that Jon, as for your idea, love it. But i used a similar excuse with the wifie before. Not sure she will fall for it again. Plus, where and how will i hold my life stocks Its a 180g system pack with corals and about 30 fish
  5. I all, I have hoping to get some help/suggestions from my friends. A few days ago i discovered water on the front of my tank, bottom of the tank. First i thought the seam at the bottom front of the tank was leaking, but after seeing all the salt creep at the back of the tank, and the fact that the back of the tank was wet, i figured it must be coming from the bulkhead in the 5' long custom overflow box. My plan was to swap out the gaskets to see it that fixes the problem. However, today someone suggested it could be the overflow box, which i did not considered. So, I still plan to swap out the gaskets, as that is the easiest thing to change, However, i am starting to think that the overflow box could be the problem. The issue is, is there a company locally that could remake the overflow box for me (It has to be predrilled to fit the same holes in the tank) Any suggestions? Much thanks Milton
  6. I like anthias, bartletts or bimarcs
  7. if you have to ask how much, you cant afford it. Keep it moving. Stick to rose bubble tips
  8. Tank looks great especially after your recent move
  9. excellent! looks like you have lots of flow too Is the rock scape touching the back wall? no need to deep the lights on during that time
  10. colors looks great
  11. great. Let me know when you are ready for corals. I will give you a frag What will you have in the tank? LPS, softie, SPS?
  12. Also, do you have a way to easily remove the return pump if you have to swap it out? I did not noticed any unions around it. Also, instead of using hard PVC on the return, you can use soft silicone tubing coming off the pump. This will reduce any vibrations and noise coming off the return pump
  13. Love the way the design is coming together, Be mindful of those kink in the reactor tubing, especially if they will be run external to the sump. You may want to consider a braided tubing. Those will not kink. Alternatively, you may want to elevate them a bit more to get rid of the kink, like you did for the 10g tank
  14. you can do laundry n water the garden with. Fresh water tank, i dont know?
  15. Look at the polyp extension on those corals. looking good
  16. That is a cute little thing what do you call him/her?
  17. That looks like soap to me. could someone have dumped some in? Got kids? Did any of the plumbing parts or pump come in contact with soap?
  18. Love the millies. got any frags?
  19. very nice looking corals. What corals are in the 2nd, 3rd and 6th pic?
  20. This is a very difficult question for me to answer and i certainly "feel your pain" Similarly, when i look at my tank i only see what is not "quite right". I pick on the littlest of things yet when people come to my house and see the tank, they often say is is nicer that other reefs in public aquariums. I think the way to look at this is that we are very passionate about that hobby and will always stride to get things better. I say thats a good trait to have. i would bet that folks who are having big issues with their tanks are not spending the same amt of "quality" that with their tank as those who have "good tank"
  21. hi has no competition for food. Get a few more
  22. I think any of those option will work for you. The key thing to be worry about is your PAR. You want around 250-350. That will get you what you want. For a better look, you may want to add some T5. Whether you use Kessil or Radion does not really make a difference, from what i have heard.
  23. have you ever been to the beech, snorkeling or diving and never seen any sand? -sand is natural -more biodiversity -keep wrasses (I have 7 in my tank)
