  1. If the water from the main drain will go through you roller mat then bubbles would not be an issue. If not, if there are any bubbles, I am thinking they would dissipate through the sump before they make it to your return chamber. If you are worried about noise coming from that line, then make it long enough to go below the line in that chamber. That should take care of it
  2. Welcome to the community of reef addicts. You will find lots of people here with useful information for you
  3. I agree with Seth, consistency is key for me. I do WC religiously every 2-3 weeks. Remember, patience is key!!!!!! Nothing good happens quickly and no show tank grows out overnight. Everything in my tank started from 1-2" frags. Those big acro colonies has been growing for 3-4 years. Tip: Take a full tank shot every 1st of the month. It will be easier to see your progress over time.
  4. here is a recent update https://wamas.org/forums/totm/totmprev.php/?prev=totm-2019-10
  5. For me, success is being able to take frags and grow them into a large colonies (years of care). But even so, it is like a chasing the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. For as good as my tank looks and everyone who see it tells me that, all I seems to focus on is the things that are not quite right. I guess success is relative. Just keep at it.
  6. Get a really big return pump
  7. why closed loop? with all the new pumps out there, not sure why it would be an advantage to go that way now.
  8. I think we used to do a Tank tour some time back. i am not sure what it stopped. Perhaps someone who knows can comment on this
  9. Hi Justin, Firstly, let me say that I ( and am sure others in WAMAS) thank you for your service to this great land of ours. As for reefing, we have many advance reefers here that can certainly help with your quest for a better reef. I certainly understand the preference to have someone local (a reef buddy) who can come over, put eyes on your tank and give recommendations. Short of that, please feel free to post your questions to the collective and they will certainly be answered. good luck Milton
